The US Mint today, November 23, at Noon ET placed the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set on sale for a price of $21.95.
The release marks the completion of the Mint’s busiest patch of product launches, and is the last from its numismatic November 2010 product schedule. It is also the final America the Beautiful Quarters® product release in 2010.
The Uncirculated Coin Set includes 10 coins in total, with five uncirculated America the Beautiful Quarters from the Philadelphia Mint and five uncirculated coins struck in the Denver Mint. Specifically, contained within the set are quarters honoring Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Yosemite National Park in California, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.
These coins are unlike the circulating quarters seen in every day pocket change. Struck specifically for collectors, they enjoy extra attention and care during the minting process, and include a special satin finish.
The Uncirculated Coin Set is the seventh annual product available from the US Mint that includes versions of all five of the debuting America the Beautiful Quarters®.
The sets may be ordered from the United States Mint website (http://catalog.usmint.gov/), or its toll free number 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).
The Mint announced back in May that it would offer three new types of annual coin sets showcasing the new quarter-dollars, including the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set. The Hot Springs Quarter Three-Coin Set went on sale last Wednesday — with the remaining 2010 quarters to be released within the three-coin set product range in 2011. The America the Beautiful Quarters Circulated Coin Set was issued last Friday.
While there will be no more products featuring the quarters this year, the US Mint will be issuing America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins before 2010 is over. The 5 oz bullion coins are composed of .999 fine silver, have diameters of three inches and bear the same obverse and reverse designs of the new quarter-dollars.
