Circulating quality America the Beautiful Quarters in rolls and bags have now been released for fourteen of the fifteen national parks and sites up for honors between 2010 and 2012.
Last week on Monday, August 27, 2012, the United States Mint released 2012 Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park Quarters. Like past 2012 releases, buyers have options of purchasing Hawai’i Volcanoes quarters directly from the U.S. Mint in rolls and bags with additional choices of coins minted in Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
With specific figures and comparisons shown below, their debut sales across all the rolls and bags were a bit stronger than the start for the previous 2012 Acadia National Park Quarters, and then mixed when contrasted against early product sales of 2012 Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarters and 2012 El Yunque National Forest Quarters.
Prior to 2012, rolls and bags of circulating quality America the Beautiful Quarters were only available from Denver and Philadelphia — the two U.S. Mint facilities responsible for producing all circulating American coinage. San Francisco was thrown in the mix this year, but the facility is striking quarters only for coin collectors — none are distributed into circulation. The U.S. Mint has not indicated if it will continue to offer San Francisco quarters in circulating quality beyond 2012.
The following tables provide a breakdown of debut sales, latest sales, and final sales for America the Beautiful Quarters released within rolls and bags during 2010, 2011 and 2012. The latest sales figures are as of Monday, September 3, 2012. The final 2012-dated America the Beautiful Quarters honoring Denali National Park has a release date of November 5, 2012.
