Spot gold rose $5.00 per ounce to open at $1,458.80 this morning while silver was ahead by 23 cents and started the day at $40.34 the ounce. First-line support in the yellow and the white metal is currently pegged at [...]

US Mint Sets Pricing for Hot Springs 5 oz Silver Uncirculated...
The US Mint on Tuesday said the pricing for the numismatic Hot Springs National Park 5 oz Silver Uncirculated Coin would be set at $279.95. The coin will launch on April 28.
The price is the preliminary amount to place on the other 2010 and 2011 America the Beautiful Silver Uncirculated Coins, although the Mint explicitly states its coin pricing is subject to change. Given the volatile and rapid rate of silver's climb in 2010 and 2011, it would seem chances for future price adjustments may [...]
Tuesday Kitcommentary – You Wanna Bet?
Precious metals trading opened on a firmer footing this morning following overnight dips to near recently formed price support areas.
The market's tenor was however on the nervous side as players eyed lingering profit-takers still in action and remained focused on the US dollar and oil values. Spot gold dealings started the Tuesday session with a minor, 90-cent loss per ounce, quoted at the $1,464.40 mark on the bid-side [...]

Gold Breaks String of Records, Silver Prices Set Fresh 31-Year High
U.S. gold rallied to an early record Monday but later retreated, breaking a string of four straight record closings.
Silver prices fell significantly from earlier highs but held just enough ground to settle at a fresh 31-year high. Profit-taking was among the factors analysts' cited in pressuring metals.
June gold prices lost $6.00, or 0.4 percent, to settle at $1,468.10 an ounce [...]

Monday Kitcommentary – The 411 on 4.11.11
Silver remained the lone and curious standout in pre-opening market action and was still rising on inertia from last week's speculation-fueled nearly 9% gain. Analysts at UBS noted that "It takes a brave investor to buy silver right now."
Monday's precious metals trading opened with losses in three out of the four principal metals we track and with no change in rhodium. Gold fell $7.60 per ounce at the start of the first session of the week, touching the $1,467.40 mark as speculators [...]
