Eight newly minted coins crafted for collectors debut today at noon ET with the launch of the 2025 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set from the United States Mint. First introduced in 2012 and released annually except in 2015, the premier series concludes with this year’s set, which features five new coin designs created exclusively for 2025.

Struck in .999 fine silver at the U.S. Mint’s San Francisco facility, each proof coin showcases frosted design elements against mirror-like fields — the Mint’s highest quality finish — enhancing the set’s appeal, which is limited to just 25,008 units. To ensure fairer access, the Mint has imposed an initial household order limit of one set per customer.
"This limited-edition set is a must-have for any collector and a great gift to mark any special occasion!" promotes the U.S. Mint webpage dedicated to the set’s release. "There’s something for everyone in this sparkling set, coming in at almost 2.5 troy ounces of 99.9% fine silver."
Aside from the American Silver Eagle, which has always been struck in .999 fine silver, the set’s other coins were minted in 90% silver until 2019. Since then, they have also been produced in .999 fine silver.
Coins of the 2025 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set contain a combined silver weight of 2.473 troy ounces and include:
- 2025-S American Silver Eagle
- 2025-S Kennedy Half Dollar
- 2025-S Roosevelt Dime
- 2025-S Ida B. Wells Quarter
- 2025-S Juliette Gordon Low Quarter
- 2025-S Dr. Vera Rubin Quarter
- 2025-S Stacey Park Milbern Quarter
- 2025-S Althea Gibson Quarter
The five quarter dollars are unique to 2025 and serve as the final strikes in the Mint’s four-year American Women Quarters™ Program.

All the coins were available separately earlier this year in other Mint products, though not in the premium packaging of this set. For example, the 2025-S Proof American Silver Eagle was released individually ($95), while the remaining coins appear in the standard 2025 Silver Proof Set ($150). The five quarters are also included in the 2025 Quarters Silver Proof Set ($95). All three of these products have long been listed as "currently unavailable."

Set’s Final Year
In addition to 2025 marking the final year for Limited Edition Silver Proof Sets, it also closes the chapter for the San Francisco–minted proof American Silver Eagle. Product pages for both the set and the coin state:
"No further releases scheduled for this product beyond 2025 as we create new numismatic products to enhance your collection."
Of note, until 2017, Limited Edition Silver Proof Sets did not include an "S" American Silver Eagle, featuring instead the West Point "W" version.
Lowest Mintage Set
The set’s mintage of 25,008 is the lowest in the series, compared to 50,000 for past sets. Actual sales for most prior-year issues were significantly higher, though in recent years, sales have retreated as launch prices have climbed.

*The set from 2021 was named the "American Eagle Collection." Unlike other years, it contained two American Silver Eagles — a 2021-W Proof American Silver Eagle, Type 1 (Classic Design, West Point) and a 2021-S Proof American Silver Eagle, Type 2 (New Design, San Francisco). While it included the Kennedy half dollar and Roosevelt dime, it featured only two quarters — the 2021-S Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site quarter (the final issue in the Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters® Program) and the 2021-S George Washington Crossing the Delaware quarter.
