US Mint Sales: 2025 Palladium Eagle Kicks Off at 4,012

The 2025-W Reverse Proof American Palladium Eagle, the United States Mint’s latest collector offering, led the bureau’s weekly top sellers.

Released on Sept. 4 for $1,695, the reverse proof Palladium Eagle posted four-day starting sales of 4,012, or 66.9% of its 6,000-coin mintage limit.

Since the coin has alternated each year between proof, reverse proof, and uncirculated finishes, direct year-to-year comparisons are blurred, but past openings include:

• The first proof in 2018, priced at $1,387.50, sold out in less than five minutes with a 15,000 mintage.
• The first reverse proof in 2019, priced at $1,987.50, achieved four-day opening sales of 16,690 out of 30,000.
• The first uncirculated in 2020, priced at $3,000, fluctuated between on- and off-sale early on, with a four-day total of 9,971 out of 10,000.
• The second proof in 2021, priced at $3,350, opened with a four-day total of 3,817 out of 12,000.
• The second reverse proof in 2022, priced at $3,050, posted four-day sales of 5,378 out of 7,500.
• The second uncirculated in 2023, priced at $2,150, saw four-day sales of 3,683 out of 6,000.
• The third proof in 2024, priced at $1,900, recorded four-day sales of 1,473 out of 7,500.

American Liberty Up Slightly, Silver Proof Set Down Again, Sacagawea Down, Superman Totals Mixed, Army Eagle Snaps Declines

Released on Aug. 20, the 100,000-mintage 2025-W Proof Laser Engraved American Silver Eagle became unavailable earlier last week. Still, for the third consecutive report, there has been no update to its sales beyond the first-day total of 59,520, previously provided to CoinNews, with the Mint stating in multiple responses that it is working to provide accurate figures.

The 2025 American Liberty issues launched on Aug. 21, with the 12,000-mintage 2025-W $100 High Relief Gold Coin lasting nearly 2 1/2 hours before first becoming unavailable. Its opening total was 7,350. The latest data shows it up by 2 to 7,954. The 60,000-mintage 2025-P Silver Medal, which became unavailable the next day, debuted with reported sales of 28,888 and now stands at 29,966, an increase of 48.

Launched on Aug. 7, the 10-coin 2025 Silver Proof Set recorded four-day opening sales of 120,807 units. After climbing to 127,125 in its first full week, the set, now listed as "Currently Unavailable," has logged three consecutive weekly declines — down 2,166, then 10,609, and most recently 159 — bringing the total to 114,191.

Released on July 31 and limited to 7,500 coins, the 2025-W Proof Sacagawea Gold Dollar became unavailable about eight hours after its launch. Since then, only small quantities have briefly reappeared. Five reports ago, the total edged up by 4 to 7,444; the following report showed no change. In the next update, it increased by 47 to 7,491, and has since logged back-to-back declines of 5, bringing the total to 7,481.

The U.S. Mint’s Superman-themed gold coin and silver medals debuted on July 24, with the first four days of presales showing the least expensive medal leading at 30,228 units, followed by the 2.5-ounce version at 11,764, and then the gold coin at 6,146.

Recent weekly movement for the Superman-themed products shows:

• Week ending Aug. 10: gold coin down 221, 2.5-ounce silver medal up 163, 1-ounce silver medal down 14,229
• Week ending Aug. 17: gold coin slipped another 44, 2.5-ounce medal advanced 255, 1-ounce medal edged up 30
• Week ending Aug. 24: gold coin rebounded by 140, 2.5-ounce medal climbed 464, 1-ounce medal rose 388
• Week ending Sept. 1: gold coin down 25, 2.5-ounce medal declined 171, 1-ounce medal dropping 1,272
• Week ending Sept. 7: gold coin up 49, 2.5-ounce medal advanced 200, 1-ounce medal slipping 10

Current totals now stand at 5,844 for the gold coin, 12,674 for the 2.5-ounce silver medal, and 14,918 for the 1-ounce silver medal.

In the latest data, the no-longer-available privy-marked 250th Anniversary Army 2025-W Proof American Silver Eagle posted its first weekly increase in five weeks, rising by 483 to 98,538. The four preceding declines were 326, 1,119, 2,689, and 2,296. Its official mintage is 100,000.

In its latest report, the Mint published sales data for 591 numismatic products. Two products saw week-over-week gains of more than 1,000 units, compared to 3 previously.

U.S. Mint sales momentum slowed, with 57 products surpassing their previous gains. As noted, however, this total reflects one day less of reporting due to the additional day of reporting last week as a par of the Labor Day holiday, and compares against recent weekly increases of 109, 101, 94, 90, 110, 85, 103, 105, 89, 120, 98, and 93.

Four products registered weekly sales declines, compared to 14 in last week’s report. Beyond the three already noted, the only other decline was minimal at one unit.
