Four US Mint Silver Products Unavailable as Silver Prices Top $43
The United States Mint on Monday placed two more of its silver products on hold as silver prices continued to spike into fresh ranges of 31-year highs.
Four silver products are now described on the US Mint website as "temporarily unavailable."

CNBC Spotlights Silver, Gold at April 2011 Santa Clara Coin Expo
The soaring spot market prices for silver and gold prompted CNBC to televise four reports from the bourse floor of the Santa Clara (California) Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo on Friday, April 15, 2011, opening day of the recent three-day show.

Gold Adds Another Record, Silver Closes Near $43
U.S. gold prices closed to another fresh record near $1,493 an ounce and silver followed as it settled near $43 an ounce after Standard & Poor's downgraded its long-term outlook for U.S. debt to negative.

Precious metals trading in New York opened with declines across the board this morning as a stronger US dollar and fast-falling crude oil conspired to motivate profit-takers to do just that.

U.S. gold and silver prices ended the week on a robust note for a second straight Friday. Gold closed to an all-time record high at near $1,490 an ounce. Silver prices soared 91 cents to over $42 an ounce and a fresh 31-year high. Gains were attributed to "inflation worries," the prominent buzzwords of the day and much of the week.

The United States Mint on Thursday provided 2011 Proof American Gold Eagle mintages, product limits, potential prices and the release date for all the 22-karat Gold Eagle coins.
