The Austrian Mint in Vienna has issued the fourth €10 silver coin in its popular series "Tales and Legends in Austria." The new coin deals with the old legend of a famous emperor and his army sleeping deep beneath the mountain called Untersberg awaiting the recall to life.
The emperor in the legend is Charlemagne, King of the Franks, who was crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in the year 800. The story tells that Charlemagne and his army dwell under the Untersberg, a mountain between Salzburg and Bavaria, where he rules over princes, warriors and dwarfs [...]

Record gold and 30-year high silver prices has without question raised the demand for bullion products. So much so that there is not much excitement in the latest round of U.S. Mint sales figures after collector proof 2010 Gold Eagles and investor bullion coins are pulled out.
2010 American Silver Eagle bullion coins are back to their rip-roaring pace. Weekly sales jumped 835,000 versus the prior 515,000, and their year-to-date total will likely top 27 million by Friday.

2010 Proof Gold Eagle Opening Sales Soar Over Past Issues
The opening demand for 2010 Proof American Gold Eagles soared past prior-year issues, according to the latest round of gold coin sales figures from the United States Mint.
Anticipation spurred one-ounce Gold Eagle sales the most. Buyers snapped up nearly one-third of their authorized mintage in only four days. All sizes burst past the debuting performance of the 2008 issues, which was the last year the 22-karat gold pieces were available.

Austria 2010 20€ Rome On The Danube Vindobona Silver Coin Launches
The second coin in the Austrian Mint's new series "Rome on the Danube" is dedicated to the famous city of Vienna that began its existence as a military outpost on the northern borders of the Roman Empire.
The 20 Euro Vindobona silver coin commemorative was issued on 8th September, 2010, and is eagerly awaited by coin collectors and fans of Roman history alike.
Like so many Roman towns and fortresses VINDOBONA, Roman Vienna, was preceded by Celtic settlements. It was an area where two important trade routes crossed, the Amber Road from the north down to Italy and the River Danube itself.
