The Perth Mint has launched a series of pure gold, silver and platinum coins featuring stunning artistry by Indigenous coin designer Darryl Bellotti.

2009 Australian Platinum Dreaming Coins from 'The Dreaming Series'

Called The Dreaming Series, it is the latest coin range to be issued under the Mint's 'Discover Australia' brand banner. Promoting fascinating aspects of Australian wildlife, landscapes and culture, the coins are expected to become as popular at home and with international collectors, gift-buyers and investors, as the earlier releases in the program.

The new Dreaming coins portray unique interpretations of Australian animals by Darryl Bellotti, a Western Australian graphic artist of Yamatji and Nyoongar descent who joined The Perth Mint in-house design team in 2006.

Lincoln Silver Dollar Prices Published by US Mint

2009 Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Silver DollarThe United States Mint published 2009 Lincoln Silver Dollar prices on Friday and said it would offer introductory discounts for several weeks following the commemorative silver dollar launch.

The silver coins celebrate the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln's birth with up to 500,000 proof and uncirculated silver dollars issued for collectors beginning on Lincoln's birthday, February 12.

Additionally, the US Mint will offer a special set that includes the proof silver version and proofs of the four newly designed 2009 Lincoln cents.

Lincoln Silver Dollar designs were revealed by the Mint during the annual Dedication Day Ceremony at Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg on November 19, which was the 145th anniversary of the day that Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address. The reverse or tails side of the silver coins feature the last 43 words of the Gettysburg Address, encircled in a laurel wreath.
