The gold coin is struck in high relief proof from 1 ounce of .9999 fine gold at the West Point Mint, while the silver medal, also with a proof finish, contains 1 ounce of .999 fine silver and is produced at the Philadelphia Mint. Both share the same designs, with the obverse (heads side) showing a sunflower and bee symbolizing the stewardship required to sustain liberty, and the reverse (tails side) featuring a dynamic, swirling eagle.

Since 2015, the U.S. Mint American Liberty series has celebrated modern interpretations of the concept of American liberty. The 2025 issues continue that theme with the sunflower and bee motif by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program designer Christopher Polentz, whose initials appear to the lower left of the sunflower. Obverse inscriptions on the gold coin read "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2025," while the silver medal carries only "LIBERTY" and "2025."

Polentz also designed the reverse. Inscriptions on the gold coin include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "100 DOLLARS," "1 OZ.," ".9999 FINE GOLD," and the "W" mintmark, while the silver medal bears "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the "P" mintmark.

The obverse design was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist John P. McGraw, with the reverse executed by Mint Medallic Artist Eric David Custer.
