El Yunque Quarter Ceremony Scheduled
Ceremony launch details for the El Yunque National Forest Quarter were published today by the United States Mint. The event is scheduled to take place at the El Portal Rain Forest Visitor Center on Wednesday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m. AT.

World War I Commemorative Coin Supported by ANA
New legislation that would authorize a commemorative coin to honor World War I American veterans is being endorsed by a major player in the numismatic arena. According to a media release issued March 7, 2012, the American Numismatic Association (ANA) has called upon its 28,000 members to support the proposed legislation entitled the World War I American Veterans Centennial Commemorative Coin Act.
According to the release, the effort for a World War I commemorative coin was launched by ANA Numismatic Educator Rod Gillis over two years ago. Rep. Gold Rebounds from 6-Week Low, Silver Rallies 2.4%
Gold rebounded Wednesday from a six week-low and a three-day losing streak. Gains were attributed to reports that the Fed is weighing a new form of bond-buying program, improved sentiment on Greece's debt deal, riskier appetites and a weaker U.S. dollar.

In a rarity, demand climbed sharply for all 2012 Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar commemorative products during their second full week of availability, the latest U.S. Mint sales figures revealed.

Today, March 6, the United States Mint is again selling silver products which were suspended nearly 1 1/2 weeks ago after silver prices climbed sharply. Silver has since plunged, resulting in these silver products returning to availability.

Gold prices fell below $1,700 an ounce and to a six-week low Tuesday as commodity markets, stocks and other riskier bets were shunned by investors.

US Mint Adds 2012 Proof Silver Eagle, Gold Eagles to Product...
Newly dated proof Gold Eagles, the proof Silver Eagle and the proof Gold Buffalo are the latest additions to the U.S. Mint's numismatic product schedule for 2012. The popular proof coins were added Monday to the Mint's schedule.
