US Government Prints 620.8 Million Notes Worth $17.3 Billion in May

BEP Production FiguresThe quantity of banknotes produced by the US government in May increased over April, but fewer denominations were printed and the total value of all notes declined, according to Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) figures released Friday.

In comparing the months, the agency printed more $1s and $20s in May, but fewer $100s and no $5s. And similar to April, no $10s or $50s were produced.

In total, 620,800,000 banknotes were produced last month valued at $17,286,400,000. By contrast, the BEP printed 617.6 M notes worth $17.8 billion in April. Read the rest of this entry »

2009 $2 Single Note Collection - First Installment

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has launched the first installment of 2009 $2 Single Notes featuring crisp banknotes representative of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Dallas. The price for each is $7.95.

A single note subscription program is also available where the BEP’s entire collection of 10 Federal Reserve Bank notes may be purchased for $79.50. (Notes not yet released are shipped when available.)

Once there, customers are directed to download a PDF order form, complete the purchase information, and then e-mail (moneyfactory.sales@bep.treas.gov) or fax (1-888-891-7585) the order to the BEP. 2009 $2 Single Note Collection Subscription ProgramThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has announced the launch of the 2009 $2 Single Note Collection Subscription Program.

For $79.50, collectors can guarantee delivery, as they are made available through the year, of one Series 2003A $2 note from 10 of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks — Minneapolis and Kansas City Districts are excluded. BEP Production FiguresThe same amount of banknotes were produced by the US government in April as in March, but the total value of those notes was less, according to Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) figures released Thursday.

In comparing the months, the agency printed more $1s and the same number of $5s. However, fewer $20s, $100’s, and no $10s or $50s were printed.

BEP Production FiguresThe U.S. government in February produced more banknotes for the second consecutive month, according to Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) figures released Friday, March 13.

The agency in February printed more $1s, $20s and $100s and the same amount of $10s and $50s as January. No $5s were produced in either month.

BEP Prints 489.6 Million Notes Worth $20.3 Billion in January

BEP Production FiguresThe U.S. government in January printed more notes with a higher total value compared to December, according to Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) figures released Friday, February 13.

The agency printed fewer $1s and $100s, and no $5s. However, the production of $50s more than doubled in January, making up for the difference.

First Series 2004A $10 Single Notes for CollectorsThe first set of Series 2004A $10 Single Notes have been released by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s (BEP).

The BEP placed the first four banknotes on sale Monday for the price of $35 each.

The "We the People" Series 2004A $10 Note Collection includes 12 notes that are released individually in three installments a year.
