Guam Quarters in US Mint Bags and Rolls
2009 Guam Quarters in coin bags and two-roll sets will be available on Tuesday, May 26, the US Mint said in a press statement Wednesday.
The public can purchase the new quarter-dollars directly from the Mint's online store. The two-roll set includes 40 commemorative quarters minted in Philadelphia with the "P" mintmark and 40 coins from Denver with the "D" mintmark. The price tag is $32.95.
The Guam quarters are also packaged in 100-coin bags for $32.95 and 1,000-coin bags for $309.95.
The Mint's production of 2009 quarters has plummeted during the recession as the public has been feeding loose change back into the banking system, instead of the other way around. As a result, finding 2009 coins in circulation is quite challenging, making US Mint rolls and coin bags all the more popular with collectors.

20 Million Lincoln Rail Splitter Pennies Sold in Four Days
Blazing past all expectations, collectors purchased more than 400,000 rolls of the 2009 Lincoln Rail Splitter cent in just four days, the latest United States Mint sales figures show.
The Mint launched the coin Thursday to an excited public. On the same day, two-roll sets -- one roll of 50 coins for the United States Mint at Philadelphia and one roll of 50 coins for the United States Mint at Denver -- went on sale for $8.95. Or, perhaps more clearly, for 8.95 cents per penny.
As of Sunday, the Mint said 200,055 of the two-roll sets have sold for a total of 400,110 rolls, adding up to more than 20 million pennies.
