US Mint Expected to Cut Proof Platinum Eagle Price, Not Gold...
On Wednesday, collectors are likely to see the U.S. Mint lower its price for the 2011-W Proof American Platinum Eagle. The current Platinum Eagle price of $1,892.00 should drop $100 to $1,792.00. That would be $300 lower than when the coin was first introduced in May at $2,092.00.

BEP to Offer 2012 $2 Single Notes from Kansas City Bank
Beginning Thursday, May 10, at 8:00 AM ET, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will make available 2012 $2 Single Notes from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
These Series 2003A $2 notes will only be available during calendar year 2012 with an absolute maximum of 9,000 offered.

Gold Edges 0.4% Lower as Silver Declines 1%, US Coins Higher
Gold prices declined slightly Monday in what was described as a "risk off" day amid uncertainty in Europe. Gold and other precious metals were also pressured by a stronger U.S. dollar.

2012 Proof Set Released by US Mint
Today, May 7, 2012, the United States Mint released the 2012 Proof Set for $31.95 each.
It is the first core or annual set which contains all of this year's coins, including those with one-year only designs like those featured on the reverses of the 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters, the 2012 Presidential $1 Coins and the recently released Native American Dollar.
