Titanic Survivor’s 1899 $1 Bill Certified by PCGS Currency
The 1899 $1 Silver Certificate a survivor of the S.S. Titanic had in his pocket a century ago when he was rescued from the Atlantic Ocean, and then was later inscribed by him, has been certified by PCGS Currency.
"Given all of the anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and with news coverage of it nearly everywhere, it would be an understatement to describe our anticipation of seeing this note as tremendous," said Laura A. Kessler, Vice President of PCGS Currency.

On Tuesday, April 24, 2012, the United States Mint released the 2012 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set™ for $18.95, a savings of $1 compared to the prior year issue.

Annual 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Sets Available
Today, April 24, the United States Mint began selling 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Sets. The annual set has a new price of $12.95, plus shipping and handling.
It is the third year for the uncirculated sets, and this year the price is $9 lower than the two older sets which remain for sale at $21.95 each. This year's savings is attributed to the U.S. Mint's refined product costing process and lower negotiated prices with suppliers [...]

Gold Prices Drop to 2-Week Low, US Bullion Coin Sales Rebound
Gold prices declined 0.6% and to a more than two-week low on Monday as a stronger U.S. dollar curbed the appeal of precious metals.
"There is gloom and people want to move into cash," Frank McGhee, the head dealer at Integrated Brokerage Services LLC in Chicago, said in a telephone interview that was relayed on Bloomberg.

Gold turned higher Friday but the increase was modest and insufficient to pull prices into the black for the week. The yellow metal registered a weekly loss of 1.0%, declining in two of the past three weeks to shed 1.7% since the end of March.
