2011 First Spouse Gold Coin Designs and CFA Recommendations
The series of design proposals for the 2011 First Spouse Gold Coins have been created and presented to various officials and review bodies, including the Commission of Fine Arts or CFA.
The one-half ounce, 24 karat gold coins that debuted in 2007 continue into 2011 by honoring the spouses of the 17th through 20th Presidents of the United States -- Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes and James A. Garfield.

Platinum Eagles Inventory Depleted, US Mint Adds Standby List
All 10,000 of the newly released 2010 Proof Platinum American Eagles have been purchased. Still interested buyers will now see the U.S. Mint's "Waiting List" option when visiting the coin's online information page.

The list feature has become a staple for newly sold out products, providing an opportunity for the Mint to fulfill standby orders if older orders are canceled.

US Mint Sales: Bullion Coins Sluggish, 2010 Mint Sets Drag
The latest round of U.S. Mint sales figures contain the opening proof Platinum Eagle numbers, show a slowing demand for gold and silver bullion coins, and include several flat or negative product adjustments.
Far fewer American Eagle and Buffalo bullion coins were ordered than typical between last Wednesday and Monday. Fractional Gold Eagles remained unchanged, and the 1 oz size and the Buffalo Gold coins each edged only 500 higher. Silver Eagles rose just 75,000 -- less than the per day average sold during the first 230 days of this year.

When added to the legal tender coins struck each year as part of the nation's bullion coin program, which vary in size from 1/20 ounce to 10 kilograms, The Perth Mint now offers a 33-strong suite of 99.99% pure gold and 99.9% pure silver bullion products.
