Investors purchased fewer American Silver Eagles in March 2011, but the investment grade coins still managed to tally up never-before-seen quarterly sales.

March 2011 American Gold Bullion Coin Sales
Demand for 22-karat American Gold Eagle coins retreated in March 2011, but the United States Mint still sold more ounces of gold bullion coins during the month than in February 2011 or during the same period last year. Fewer ounces were sold than in January 2011, however.

Spot gold dealings opened with a small, $0.90 per ounce loss, quoted at $1,433.60 as against a 0.13 gain in the US dollar on the trade-weighted index.
A brief spike to $1,440 followed gold's opening as buyers once again attempted to test overhead resistance but then pulled back for a respite.

Gold Rises, Silver Prices Surge 2% to 31-Year High
U.S. precious metals advanced Monday. Gold rose the least at 0.3 percent. Silver prices soared the most at 2.0 percent as they reached a new 31-year high and closed near $38.50 an ounce. Gains in metals were attributed mostly to inflation concerns.

2011 Glacier National Park Quarters Available
The United States Mint began selling bags and rolls of 2011 Glacier National Park Quarters at noon Eastern Time today, April 4, 2011. The reverse design on the quarter honors the national park located in the state of Montana.
The Glacier quarter two-roll set is $39.95. One roll contains 40 quarter-dollars minted in Philadelphia, and the other is filled with 40 strikes from Denver -- both facilities are responsible for producing America's circulating coinage. Monday Kitcommentary – Drunk on Crude-Aid
Spot gold trading opened with a $9.90 per ounce gain in New York on Monday, as the hefty additions to crude oil values helped the entire commodities complex reach for higher ground.
Support in bullion is currently seen as residing near the $1,419 and $1,404 price-points, while resistance overhead remains in place near $1,444 and the $1,452 levels. Gold and Silver Drop on Day, but Register Weekly Gains
Three of four precious metals declined Friday. Gold fell the furthest following better than expected jobs data which showed that the U.S. unemployment rate dipped to 8.8 percent.
