The International Association of Professional Numismatists (I.A.P.N.) held its 60th General Assembly June 23-27, 2011 in Edinburgh Scotland.

Gold Falls from Record, Silver Prices Decline 1.7%
U.S. gold futures closed sharply lower Thursday, breaking away from a three-session winning streak and falling from an all-time record high of over $1,817 an ounce.
"The strength in equities, coupled with the increase in margins, is pushing gold down," Matthew Zeman, a strategist at Kingsview Financial in Chicago, said in a telephone interview that was recounted on Bloomberg. "Investors are waiting for a deeper correction before they start buying again."

US Mint Sales: American Gold Eagles and Gold Commemorative Coins Shine
According to the latest round of United States Mint sales figures, silver coins were in higher demand but it was gold products that outperformed, including American Gold Eagles and gold commemorative coins.
Gold has soared with several strings of record highs. It was the only precious metal to advance last week. These conditions translated well for United States Mint gold coins -- both bullion and collector issues, as their sales pace quickened.

Anacapa Collection Offered in GreatCollections August 2011 U.S. Gold Coins Auction
GreatCollections is proud to auction a collection of U.S. gold coins called the Anacapa Collection.

Gold Prices Rally to $1,800 Record, Silver Rebounds 3.8%
U.S. gold futures maintained momentum Wednesday, scoring a third straight record high and topping the $1,800 an ounce psychological level in intraday trading. Gold prices have rallied $132.50, or 8.0 percent, this week as the metal's safe-haven appeal deepens on continual news of worrisome economic conditions across the globe.

US Mint July 2011 Coin Production Hits 821.98 Million
Breaking a string of three straight monthly increases, the United States Mint produced fewer coins in July than in June, according to the bureau's latest coin production figures. Still, the monthly pace was the second highest in 2011 and quicker than during the same time a year ago.
United States Mint presses pushed out 821.98 million coins for circulation in July 2011, marking a 9 percent decline from June but a 6.5 percent increase over July 2010.

Gold Jumps to $1,743 Record, Silver Prices Tumble 3.8%
U.S. gold futures blazed a path to a fresh record high Tuesday, and for a second straight day. But silver, which often follows gold, tumbled 3.8 percent. It was the only precious metal to decline.

US Mint Stops Selling Numismatic Gold Coins as Bullion Prices Soar
The United States Mint stopped selling its range of numismatic gold coins Tuesday, August 9, at 11:20 a.m. Eastern Time as the record high price of bullion approached their sales prices. Visitors to the coins' online product pages will see the notice: "This product is temporarily unavailable for product repricing."
The Mint said it intends to make the gold coins available by the afternoon of Wednesday, August 10, after price increases have been implemented.

1910 Chinese Yunnan Spring Dollar Featured in Heritage Long Beach Coin...
The legendary 1910 Chinese Dragon Dollar, called the Yunnan Spring Dollar in reference to the four Chinese characters that translate to "Spring 1910" on its reverse, could bring in excess of $1,000,000 as part of Heritage Auctions Sept. 8-9 Long Beach Signature® World & Ancient Coins Auction, at the Long Beach Convention Center.
"This enigmatic issue is one of China's rarest coins, with only two genuine pieces known," said Warren Tucker, Vice President of World Coins at Heritage.
