Having launched Thursday at noon ET, a stampede of orders maxed out all 100,000 of the available American Silver Eagle 25th Anniversary Sets in less than five hours.
The United States Mint placed a waiting list notice on the set's online product page, stating:

Gold, Silver Rise for Fifth Straight Day
Gold and silver futures marked a fifth straight day of gains Thursday, lifting the metals $134.80 and $4.83, respectively, since they last declined one week ago.

Spot metals dealings opened with gains this morning, but such advances were more sizeable in the industrial metals than they were in gold. With the US dollar being much lower on the trade-weighted index and with risk appetite having probably turned voracious after the EU announcements, one might have expected the yellow metal to try to test the upper reaches of its recent upward correction (near $1,750). But, as they say, it's never too late to try.
In any case, the gains that gold achieved over the past couple of sessions now appear to have slowed as the semi-resolution of the European crisis does imply the waning of some safe-haven searches and the quest for making a buck in certain other assets possibly reasserting itself. House Passes National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Act
Commemorative coins celebrating the National Baseball Hall of Fame are one step closer to becoming reality.
Introduced on July 14 by Rep. Richard L. Hanna, R-N.Y., the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved the National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Act in an overwhelming vote of 463 to 3.
The commemorative coin Act, numbered H.R. 2527, instructs the United States Mint to produce up to 50,000 $5 gold coins, 400,000 silver dollars and 750,000 50C half-dollars to commemorate the National Baseball Hall of Fame soon after its 75th anniversary in 2014. Gold Advances $110 in Four Days as Silver Rallies $3
Gold futures rallied again Tuesday, extending a streak of gains to four straight days in which the yellow metal has surged by a combined total of $110.60, or 6.9 percent. The tense situation over Europe's debit crisis has elicited safe-haven buying, opined analysts.
"There is no quick fix to European debt issues, so gold's crisis-hedge status is driving the metal higher," Scott Gardner, the chief investment officer at Verdmont Capital SA in Panama, said in an e-mail that was cited on Bloomberg.

US Mint Sales: Silver Eagle Coins Slower, Vicksburg Quarter Set Debuts
Demand weakened a bit for many of the major United States Mint products, including each of its American Silver Eagle coins, but the bureau's latest sales figures show a mostly steady stream of buying across its offerings.
Sales data published last week had uncirculated Silver Eagles higher for the first time in three weeks.
