Batman-themed silver medals, in their first full week on sale following their Sept. 25 launch, placed third and fourth among the U.S. Mint’s top sellers, trailing two much earlier releases — the uncirculated 2025 Mint Set (July 17) and the 2025-W Proof American Silver Eagle (Jan. 9).
Overall sales reflected steady week-over-week growth, though no products showed any eye-popping gains — a common pattern when no major new launches are introduced to boost interest.
More notable was the number of products that saw downward adjustments. In total, 13 products declined, including two with sizable reductions:
- 2025-S Proof Morgan Silver Dollar (individual), down 9,391 to 123,726
- 2025-S Proof Peace Silver Dollar (individual), down 8,066 to 112,942
Also lower, for a third straight week, was the 2025-W $100 American Liberty Gold Coin, slipping 52 to 11,011 after previous drops of 909 and 3. The 2025 Silver Proof Set recorded its seventh consecutive weekly decrease, down 93 to 113,797.

In its latest report, the Mint published sales data for 602 numismatic products. Four products saw week-over-week gains of more than 1,000 units, the same as previously.
U.S. Mint sales momentum picked up, with 106 products surpassing their previous gains, up from 114 the prior week. This compares against recent weekly increases of 102, 94, 57, 109, 101, 94, 90, 110, 85, 103, 105, 89, 120, 98, 93, and 102.
As noted, 13 products showed weekly declines, up from 12 in the previous report.

I received the last silver coin of the Carson City Mint today. The GC auction win was for the 1893-CC Morgan Dollar (MS-64). It has some random dings and looks slightly circulated and toned, but it’s pretty nice (particularly the reverse). All that’s left for the Nevada mint is the elusive 1870 dollar.
P.S. – Those Batman Gold numbers are shockingly low. There had better be some strong Christmas sales on the Caped Crusader or the DC Universe may implode before 2026’s offerings.
REB, Congratulations on that win of the last silver CC Mint coin. Indeed, the Batman Gold coin sales figures are a huge disappointment; I fear the Caped Crusader has fallen victim to accelerated dynamic price increases.
Rich, I’m not sure why the Caped Crusader neglected to knockout the “Dynamic Gold Price”increases with a blow and “KAPOW” from one of his Bat-a-rangs! No powers that Superman has or gadgets in Batman’s utility belt, can snuff out the white hot energy being emitted from this “Yellow” Kryptonite and all following Superhero Gold coins and silver medals will suffer the same fate! DOOM!
Nice job REB, it’s a good coin. As narrated by the likes of QDB, most of the ’93-CC Morgans were heavily bag-marked. A 64 is near-Gem with plenty of luster, and yours is all original ✓
I have ZERO problem with low Batman Gold numbers.
My 2nd Sup 2.5 Siver was received this Mon by CACg, and today it’s already been shipped – talk about a shock! Yes, it’s in a huge sarcophagus, yes, that label is the same size as a regular holder, lol. Here’s a couple of mages & grade ↓
Sweet, Rick. Looks good. Congrats.
Rick,
Looks like you got lucky. But the Mint managed to thoroughly FU this years 2025 Proof Silver Kennedy. Spots and haze. It looks like something in the aqueous rinse or the coin was hastily conserved by someone. What a waste of money and time.
Just so hard to believe this coin was actually put in a holder. I also have two more presales that I’ve been waiting on for months. Modern Mint Silver is a gamble. This is my very last modern mint purchase. Back to the classics. Fire the mint.
Cheers
Why not seek a replacement set? These sets are going to be low mintage and will gain in value. Don’t regret years from now.
Antonio,
I think the only logical option will be to return the coin to PCGS and pay to have it conserved and re-holdered. The coin appears to have been poorly conserved once already.
E1, it’s about time you showed up. Sorry to see your Kennedy like that, it’s bad. I thought you ordered a 70-DCAM? Please tell me it’s a 69DCAM. Something went really bad with the silver proof sets as Cali noted. That coin may have turned in the plastic? You’re right, it’s a gamble. I got lucky, yes & no. Sup-silver #1 had an amazing planchet, but a ding dashed a chance at 70. Sup #2 above was ding free and made the grade, despite having a minor inconsistency with the ag mixture seen in bright light. Over the last year… Read more »
Rick,
I was on a fly about and I’m back now.
Yes, that coin was a PCGS PR70 DCAM. Such a spotted bummer. I have more on the way though. We’ll see how those go. I might get another chance at a spot free example with the 2025 LESPS release.
Also, I was able to finish my 1965-1970 40% Kennedy Sub-set. I think it turned out pretty good. MS-66 across the board for the business uncs. Matched grade and matched certification. Some other upgrades in there too.
Other than that, I’m swamped again. Gotta run Bro……Run Forest, Run…..
Cheers
E1,
Your 40% Silver Kennedy subset is looking primo, no spots nice job!
My business strike ’64-’70 toner set is about half complete. A work in progress.
The End of an Era.
Peace Out
Nice set. Thanks for the memories (1964 – 2025). We’ll see how the 2027s look like.
Placeholder, “ats” changes to the 2025 American Silver Eagle with Navy Privy to be released this Friday. On 9/18 the number was 99,999. On 9/29 we see the number drop to 89,500 and the ABPP(25NPM) show a population of 10,000. On 9/30 sales open to the ABPP and they promptly scoop up 3,761 in the first 1/2hr of sales, leaving 6,239. By 1:30 they are down to 4,138 left. At 4:05 just 1,111 available and the next day(10/1) between the hours of 7:53am and 11:37 the number stood at 448. By or before 6:14 pm the ABPP allotment would be… Read more »
Congratulations REB! Wondering about the 1870 CC Seated Liberty coin to complete your Nevada portion of your 1st and last collection? Do you have a desired grade or price in mind? Also, can you please remind me? Are you collecting the first and last of each denomination from each mint, regardless of silver, gold, copper, as I can’t quite recall? Thanks
Why would someone do this!

Here is the picture in case you don’t want to follow the link. I’m guessing @REB doesn’t want this one.
Edit: Hmmm… the picture isn’t showing up.
Hmm? If indeed this graffiti was placed on January 10, 1893 as the seller implies, perhaps this was a wedding, birth or death in the family and someone wanted to commemorate it by scratching the date into this coin? I don’t know, but I’m guessing this wasn’t done in 1993, as likely, even then the coin was valued at quite a bit more than silver melt or $1? PS Maybe it was done by a loved one of a victim in the Colorado, “1893 King Coal Mine #5” explosion that killed 25 miners? PSS Side note, the Colorado School of… Read more »
My bad. I looked for seller comments but didn’t look hard enough. I assumed it was 1993. Upon reflection that would make sense.
Vinnie:
My 1838-C Half Eagle has the letter “L” counterstruck multiple times on the coin (it also has a prominent die crack on the reverse). Despite the VF Details grade, I love the coin. I imagine some prospector named “Luke” marking his gold in late-1830s North Carolina.
As for our 1870/1893/1993 Carson City Dollar, I think I’ll pass. Perhaps if they scratched “1/10/1870 – first dollar of the new mint” into the coin, I might be a little more interested.
I sort of figured you would @REB. There was another one with a hole punched in it. I’ve been collecting Draped Bust Pennies with the blundered fraction: 1/000 or 000/100 and some re-punched dates. I see a lot of corroded, counterstruck, scratched, cleaned, holed and other detail graded pennies of that era. Maybe I should consider a counterstamped coin. A lot of the Trade Dollars have chop marks.
Hmm. Interesting stuff.
I’m going after A first and last silver and gold coin for each mint. Dahlonega & Charlotte minted gold exclusively. I got 1838 and 1861 half eagles for those two. San Francisco’s first year was gold. I got an 1854 one-dollar coin for that one. I got 1870 and 1893 half eagles for Carson City and need to pick up the 1870 dollar as the alpha to the 1893 omega. For New Orleans, I bought 1838 and 1909 dimes there years ago. I’ve got the first gold – the 1839-O Quarter Eagle. I’m still after the 1909-O Half Eagle. I… Read more »
And the First Silver center Cent, go Reb…..
The 2025 ASE with Army privy became unavailable after about 3.5 hours. How long do you think the 2025 ASE with Navy privy will last?
Rich I’m thinking 3.5hr or less. One big difference that unlike the Army Privy, we will definitely see the HHL lifted after 24hr, making any attempts to score an additional coin at morning “Fire Sales”, beyond competitive. Only Rick or those employing Ricks techniques will be successful. Again, best of luck to all stepping up to grab your HHL of 1. I expect the same players, ie Pinehurst and Bullion Exchanges to be employing a bounty of $185-$225. BTW,Army Privy/PR69 still fetching $200-240 and PR70 around $400. No shortage of coins for sale as I my current search returned 434.… Read more »
Thanks Cali. Agree that any ASE proof with a mintage/product limit < 95,000 would generate considerable collector enthusiasm, privy or not.
Hi CaliSkier, Mint to Demand would stop all the flippers from playing. Why buy up all the product from the Mint if my intended customers can just order one from the Mint at regular price anyway and cut my possible future profit at the same time by raising the overall mintage even if I do manage to sell them later? I see a lot of flippers moving to more fertile fields if that happens, which would cause mintages to lower over time and find a new balance between mintage numbers and value. I believe the higher mintages the nays cry… Read more »
“you’d better be “on board”, ready to set “sail” at noon on Friday!”
Aye aye, Captain Cali!
GLD just Closed at Another All Time Closing High.
For the 43rd time this Year.
GLD closed at $372.30 (24×5 trading may cause price variation).
Well, the ‘25 Porgans lowered #s to boost sales, but apparently also RETURNS…. WTF. Up til 5he mint stops a returnathon seems like these will languish until 2121
Q. Can silver defy gravitational pull at $50 or will the escape velocity be sufficient to break the ATH barrier and rocket to da moon?
JQC – In the year 2121…… wasn’t that a lyric way back?
AG hit $50 this morning (October 9th). See how long it stays at that value.
Yup Ziegler & Evan’s I think, I’m the year 2525, etc. By then water and steak likely more valuable than good, they synthesized that back in 2209
Let’s see AI spell brain, switched In to I’m ….gold switched to good, scary for the future, big dummy AI bro
Porgans – that tough new return policy works as well as Biden’s “closed border” policy. What a joke – from the beginning.
The 2026 Semiquincentennial Gold coins will be at a minimum ~$250.00/oz. Higher than equivalent American Gold Eagle Proof coins.
But $95 less TODAY
My guesstimate is that the 2026 Semiquincentennial Gold coins will be closer to $400.00/oz. Higher than $250.00/oz. higher than equivalent American Gold Eagle Proof coins.
Cag: your conjecture on the 2026 Sesq gold addresses the gold coin only and not the companion silver medal and accompanying packaging which must be purchased with the gold offering, correct? Any insight on price of such?
HarryB,
Correct that the companion silver medal will have to go with the Gold coins. The 2026 Silver Semiquincentennial coins would have to be at a minimum of $25.00/oz. Higher. Since these are Silver medals, and I expect the Mint to discontinue a boatload of previous offerings, and as such legacy costs will have to be moved to the remaining offerings, I would expect to see something on the line of 45.00++/oz. Higher for medals than medals offered at the beginning of FY2025.
Cag: Thanks. Your evaluation of market conditions and future expectations is always spot on….
HarryB,
Keep in mind the Silver medals are a backdoor method to increase the price of the Gold offerings without increasing the pricing grid for Gold.
And ‘hostaging’ the gold, while pushing the Ag medal everyone “wants”…..by then I suspect the upper limits of Au consumers may be hitting a wall???
The seal has been broken on Silver! Whoa! $50.91, up $2.09 or 4.28%!(9:14am ET 10/9/25). BTW, 26 American Liberty Gold coins returned for this mornings “Fire Sale” and 3 have sold by 9:20.
Too rich for my blood (as someone else said previously) but I do think The American Liberty Gold may be the nicest offering from the mint this year. The sunflower design will age well I think along with the screaming eagle. Those who scored it for near spot price (today) when it released are probably the biggest winners this year! Also anyone who got a Silver Proof Set scored, if this is the last year of the penny that 2025-S penny will be a key date IMO. Kennedy half dollar S mint is a good pickup as well.
Apparently there will be Lincoln Cents in next year’s sets. I’ve seen the art for both the cent and nickel. They’ll have a Liberty Bell with 250 inside it privy mark, and a dual 1776~2026 date. I don’t know if circulating coins will be minted. They should be a hot item as there’s no word, that I’m aware of, of cent production in 2027.
CPJH, Antonio, others that may have missed Mike Unser’s Coin News article from March 5, 2024. “Dual-Dated 1776~2026 Cent and Nickel Recommended for Semiquincentennial”(link below) Also, I’ve commented a couple of times about Acting Director Kristie McNally’s interview on YT with Jeff Garret and them referencing next year and the Mint issuing cents for collectors. I do believe we will not see any circulating cents released through Federal Reserve channels, however never say never? There could possibly be a very, very limited amount? I doubt it though. I don’t think that the mint will issue rolls for collectors either, although… Read more »
The last cent.
I thinks Messers. Brinks, Kushner, Jr., amd others will possess these trinkets before any of us see them in the wyld
Don’t forget Hunter
Currently he is ‘out of the loop’ past deeds done wrong indeed. But, he’s a piker really….
