Struck in circulating quality at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, the coins are available in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags.
"This coin recognizes Texas’ vital role in advancing America’s leadership in space exploration," said Kristie McNally, Acting Director of the Mint. From guiding astronauts from Mission Control to shaping the future of science and technology, Texas has been at the heart of some of our nation’s greatest space achievements."
Although the coins are minted in circulating quality, they have never entered circulation.
Design for the Texas Innovation Dollar
The reverse highlights Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center in Texas, emphasizing its crucial role in supporting NASA’s human spaceflight program and acknowledging its contributions to international cooperation aboard the ISS, aiding astronauts from around the globe.

Created by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Ron Sanders and sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist John P. McGraw, the design carries the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TEXAS."
On the obverse, the Statue of Liberty appears as a recurring element throughout the series. This side, designed by Justin Kunz and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill, bears the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "$1," along with a stylized gear privy mark.

Each coin also features edge-incused inscriptions showing the year of minting, the mint mark, and the phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Prices and Ordering
Texas Innovation dollars are offered in 25-coin rolls for $36.25 and 100-coin bags for $123.50, available through the U.S. Mint’s online store for American Innovation products.
American Innovation Dollars for 2025
Launched in 2018 with a coin honoring George Washington’s role in signing the nation’s first U.S. patent, the Mint’s Innovation series has since featured four new coins each year, each highlighting a groundbreaking innovation from a different U.S. state. When complete, the program will include designs representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The four 2025 Innovation dollars include:
- Arkansas $1 Coin – Honoring Raye Montague and her computer-designed ship
- Michigan $1 Coin – Highlighting Ransom Olds’ assembly line concept
- Florida $1 Coin – Celebrating the Space Shuttle program
- Texas $1 Coin – Recognizing NASA’s Mission Control at Houston’s Johnson Space Center
U.S. Mint numismatic products for the Innovation $1 Coin series also include proof and reverse proof sets. The proof set is scheduled for release on August 28, while the reverse proof set is expected later in the fall.

is that the canadarm behind the astronaut?
Technically c_q, that is the Canadarm2. AKA Space Station Remote Manipulator System(SSRMP). Here is more About Canadarm2 from the Government of Canada for any interested. Another mind blowing advance of technology since Yuri Gagarin became the first human to fly to space and orbit the earth on April 12, 1961. Thanks for the spark of inspiration to learn something new! PS Definitely new and improved from the original that was a part of the Space Shuttle!

Hope the Mint does well with this release. Really looks nice, I’m a Texas boy anyway. But one sad scenario is the ending of the Innovation Proof sets after 2025. I looked forward to them yearly.
Great Design!
Hey Rick:
I assume you got the email from Stacks Bowers. They have a direct sale of $40k for FHG Privy # 202. It’s a 69 and sold last November for $32k.
Yes, I got the email. At least this one is legit and priced to market, as opposed to the eBay scams and over priced BIN/OBO listings over there. The SB buyback wasn’t such a hit back in Jan(see pic), with just two that were flipped, so this new coin must be a new acquisition & flip for Stack’s? They do make a valid point when the say: “when sold in December 2024, virtually all of these coins were acquired by private collectors and have disappeared into their collections” Good point, as only a dozen or so have traded hands over… Read more »
Crap! I could have made a cool $1k off my “investment” had I sold in January. Do we have any idea what they acquired #202 for to be able to sell it for $40k? Is there a “standard” dealer percentage that they have to get to take on a direct sale? Or is this strictly a commission sale by SB with the price set by the seller/original owner? I’m curious.
Tough call on that one, either way SB is making moola on it. $5k?
A 69 sold for $40,500 last Feb at GC.
Perhaps it’s a safe bet for both parties in this instance. Someone will buy it. I’ll be watching it – scratch that, you can’t watch it, but one can inquire about it. Maybe I’ll check it out in a couple of weeks.
