Design for the Indiana Innovation Dollar

The design featured on the reverse of the dollar highlights Indiana’s innovations throughout history in the automobile industry. It showcases an early-style gas automobile, a depiction of classic car production, and a recent model of an Indy-style race car, arranged from top to bottom. Inscriptions surrounding the automobiles read "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "INDIANA."

The design was created by Ron Sanders, an artist from the United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program. The sculpting was done by Phebe Hemphill, a medallic artist from the U.S. Mint.

The obverse (heads side) of the coin features a design that is common to all coins in the series, depicting the Statue of Liberty. The image of the statue was created by Justin Kunz, with sculpting also done by Hemphill. Inscriptions read "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "$1." A distinctive privy mark, taking the form of a stylized gear, has been incorporated to symbolize industry and innovation.

Kaiser,

It’s a nice design for sure…and if you own one you can tell people “I have 3 cars”. Lol.
Maybe one of the national monthly automotive magazines will feature it on their cover, giving the coin hobby some free publicity.

looks like the 25 coin rolls could be sold out soon. 301 left for P and 112 left for D. For some reason they make 1000 or so more P rolls available.

Tom,

Some smart dealer will buy bags of these & sell them at a souvenir booth at the next Indy 500 race.
