According to Mike Mezak the US Mint has started a new program. There are 12 buyers that are able to buy bullion from the mint. Authorized Purchasers. The new program allows 18 of the mints high spending dealers to purchase the collector versions of the mint products. These 18 dealers were allowed to pick up THEIR allotment of 2021 W proof eagles at the Memphis fulfillment center the Monday before they went on sale on Thursday. They can get their coins to their graders and recieve a new notation on the LABELS. ADVANCED RELEASE. They are restricted from showing them… Read more »
hmm sounds a little like market manipulation
Mike Mezack did not buy only 99 coins, probably 150, 000 were split among the dealers
Advanced Release label.
NGC WILL SOON RELEASE “PRE-ADVANCE RELEASE LABLES” NEED TO HAVE TREASURY BE RESTRICTED FROM LETTING GRIFTERS LIKE MIKE MEZAK TRAMPLE ON COLLECTORS. THE GRADERS AT NGC ETC FROM FLEECING COLLECTORS.
So the coin vault is airing their Advance release 2021W Proof silver eagle as I type this. Thwy claim their information saya that only 10% of the mintage was alloted to the 18 SPECIAL BUYERS. Thats just over 32,000 coins. That would have filled a lot of collectors orders at $73 instead of the $499.98 their price. Steve and Dons coin show has their coins for $299. Mike Mezak on HSN has his coins for $399. Such a deal I have for you.
There is a comment on one of your articles about the 2021W proof eagle from a fellow in Australia that claims the Mint has finally killed his passion for collecting American dollar coins. If you go on the mint websight under news there is a press release on the 9th of February about the release of the 2021W proof eagle on the 11th. At the bottom of that press release in italics it states- NOTE: To ensure that all members of the puplic have fair and equal access to United States Mint products the United States Mint will not accept… Read more »
It is the Golden Rule. He who has the gold makes the rules
I guess its upsetting partly because when they put out the V75 eagle there was only 75000 of those. I refreshed and refreshed for 1 hour and 9 minutes but I was able to get my one. There was 327,440 of this W proof and they were sold in 5 or 6 minutes. How is that even possible? I saw Mezak on a prerecorded show for HSN this afternoon. It was taped after the coins came out. He said on this show if you werent on your computer at noon eastern you didnt get a coin. No mention of his… Read more »
Another thing he brought up was the fact that even though hes been doing business with the US Mint for well over 20 years they didnt favor him at all, all he could get from them was information. That was today. Last Sunday when HSN aired his coincollector show practically all night he let everyone know just how much he spent at the mint and he was one of the new programs Authorized Purchasers for collector editioncoins from the mint. Him and 17 others. Oh well.
If you think about it, all of the 2021 ASE were First Day of Issue as all coins were sold prior to and at the day of issue. The designation is meaningless.
My enrollment proof ASE is still stuck in processing. It is now ten days since it was ordered. Is anyone else in this limbo still waiting to process and ship?
Not the retailers they are selling graded first day of issue W proof silver eagles plus the Advance Released W proof eagles. How did all those coins get to California, Colorado and Florida? The mint has een sending emails that because of the weather in Memphis they will start processing and shipping this week, maybe.
Have you contacted the Mint recently? I had a live chat and the operator assured me that my order was fine and they are having weather issues. I thought that the center in Memphis was indoors. Amazon can ship within 24 hours and two weeks after releasethe Miint cannot get their act together
I am still Processing. I would guess that they are waiting for returns from the Elite18 of none Proof 70’s before processing the enrollment orders
Mint has indicated shipped on my order. Wow! Hopefully I will receive the coin within a week
What is going to happen when you open the box and you have a 69 and most everyone else has a 70? What if the mailman is late? It will be the Mint/USPS conspiracy to dick over Rich.
Yes mine is still waiting to process & ship too,I also ordered the two mayflower silver sets on 11/17/20 they shipped on 12/14/20 and i received them few days later,so that took awhile and waiting sucks
I got 2 coming Saturday. I’m enrolled in the enrollment program.
I finally just recieved my order of two coins today !!!
The first day of release at one point meant exactly that. The coins had to be purchased at one of the mints stores and overnighted to the grading company to receive the first day of issue. Now they say as long as we have them mailed to us within a week it’s considered first day. How does 1 week equal first day, first day is first day plain and simple. There making it easier for the dealers to get FDOI. They all have first day now and it’s easy to see why. Never understand the reasoning behind it to begin… Read more »
First Day of Issue is a tool usd by dealers to fleece more money out of your pocket. It has nothing to do with the time of minting or of packaging, but who had the ability to airdrop the coins to the grader within 24 hours. They are still the same coins as the Governemnt packaging that you get by mail, three weeks later
I have referred to coin shows and probably dealers in my comments. I only know one of the Authorized Purchasers of collector edition coins. I dont have a problem with them, they are just doing what the mint is letting them do. I do question the integrity of a coin grading service that grades and labels coins that are not officially released from the US Mint. If the US Mint so chose to do so they have an enrollment program which I believe is basically a presale of upcoming products. Like the commemorative coins now on sale. They will see… Read more »
I am venting frustration I guess. I was hoping maybe someone would see these comments and actually ask the US Mint director why he has decided to basically keep coin collectors from buying collector versions of the coins.
Sales matter, custoemrs, collectors, the little guy can suck my VISA card, the Mint lives by sale to insiders & crazy 4:30am releases that SOMEONE know in advance. Widest distribution, heck I got a chunk of Beachland in Oklahoma to sell you. The Mint has blew off so many of us it ain’t funny one tad. Look @ eBay lots for sale, look further “over 401 sold, more htan 10 reain..” ad nauseum, the dealer profit issue of early 2021….
so in the future if anything really desirable and low mintage come on the mint website we little people will never get a shot at them except for 5-10 times mint price in the secondary market because all these desirables will be presold before the noon listing.
Sorry I have to disagree with you I have got several low mintages and desirable coins not all i would like to i’am little guy but can’t get them all
yes but were your purchases before letting the 18 bullion buyers have advanced buying options?
2 min. after sale began,. I was told the smart phones are faster then desk top computers but not shore of that, but i use desk top
LCR COINS has the ADVANCED RELEASE coins advertised as being per-sold a whole week ahead of the date that the coins were to be released to the “public” and that this might be the only time the ADVANCED RELEASE label would be used. The way I understand it is that the US Mint, NGC and PCGS had this set up way before we had a chance to get a 2021-W ASE.
