The United States Mint on Wednesday released the 2011 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set for a price of $19.95.

The 2011 uncirculated set marks the fifth issue in a series that dates back to 2007 when dollar coins honoring American Presidents were first circulated as a result of the United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Program.

U.S. gold futures fell a modest 0.4 percent Tuesday, ending a streak of six records and eight session advances. Silver prices tumbled 4.5 percent, the biggest single day loss in six weeks. Profit-taking and corrective pull-backs were noted for precious metals losses.

The United States Mint began selling 2011 American Gold Eagle Proof Coins on Thursday, April 21. Buyers ordered more than $27.7 million worth of the 22-karat collector coins by Sunday, April 24.

The Gold Eagle products include coins in four sizes -- one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce and tenth ounce with respective denominations of $50, $25, $10 and $5. The United States Mint also offers a four-coin set with each of the coins in a single blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case [...]

The flames of volatility turned into a veritable firestorm of price gains and declines on Monday as the new week got underway and Tuesday's opening action showed no indications that the hectic pace of change was about to abate.
