US Mint to Introduce Gettysburg Quarter January 25
The United States Mint and the National Park Service (NPS) will introduce in a ceremony the Gettysburg National Park Quarter Tuesday, January 25, at 11 AM ET, it was announced Monday afternoon. The coin honors the park which is located in the state of Pennsylvania.

Director’s Coin for Excellence Medal Awarded to PCGS’ Miles Standish
As one of his final acts before leaving office on January 9, 2011 as Director of the United States Mint, Edmund Moy awarded the "Director's Coin for Excellence" medal to Miles Standish, Vice President and Senior Grader of the Professional Coin Grading Service, a division of Collectors Universe, Inc.

Gold Hits Two-Month Low, Silver Dives
Gold prices fell sharply to a two-month low Thursday, pounded by the stronger dollar which benefited from better than expected employment and housing data.

The new year got off to a rousing start for currency collectors in Tampa, FL as they participated in Heritage Auctions' Signature® Currency Auction, Jan. 6-11, held in conjunction with the FUN (Florida United Numismatists) Convention.

US Mint Sales: Silver Eagles Break Monthly Record, Proofs Settle

Thursday's New York session opened with losses across the precious metals' complex. Spot gold suffered a $25.00+ per ounce loss (1.65%) and fell to $1,343.40 (just under the number(s) at which it is thought to "have had to" hold, lest it should decline significantly lower).
