2008 Presidential Dollar Proof Set Now Available from U.S. Mint
The United States Mint has announced the sale of the 2008 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set™. This is the second Presidential Dollar Proof Set since the program started in 2007 and includes four presidential coins honoring:
- James Monroe
- John Quincy Adams
- Andrew Jackson
- And Martin Van Buren

Houston, TX – Houston-based Stanford Coins and Bullion announced it has sold the historic 1870-S Seated Liberty Dollar Eliasberg Specimen for $1.3 million to Certified Acceptance Corp. (CAC), a New Jersey-based company founded and owned by John Albanese. Stanford Coins and Bullion, part of the Stanford Financial Group of companies, serves investors in precious metals and collectors of rare collectible coins.
The 1870-S Seated Liberty Dollar Eliasberg Specimen is considered a U.S. numismatic treasure. Shrouded in mystery and intrigue, the Seated Liberty Dollars do not have any official record of ever having been minted, yet somehow 11 traced specimens are believed to exist.

Oklahoma State Quarter Launches into Circulation, Bags and Rolls Available
The Oklahoma state quarter officially launched into circulation Monday, Jan. 28. Thousands of people were on hand at the state's Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City where the ceremonially event took place.
United States Mint Acting Deputy Director Dan Shaver joined Governor and Mrs. Brad Henry in hosting the festivities.
"2007 was an exciting year for the Sooner State, celebrating its centennial,” said Shaver. "Today's issuance of this beautiful Oklahoma quarter serves as an encore to the state's centennial, and the coin itself will serve as a lasting, nationwide tribute to Oklahoma, its heritage and its people.”Read the rest of this numismatic news article »
