Coins from the hoard will be offered without reserve and with starting bids of $1. The auctions close each Sunday on the DLRC website.

The wide-ranging holding includes world coins from multiple continents and centuries, U.S. type coins in affordable grades, Morgan and Peace silver dollars, commemorative coins, General Services Administration (GSA) dollars and sample slabs.

DLRC President John Brush described the unexpected size of the collection when company representatives arrived to retrieve the coins.

"We got a call regarding a large number of fresh coins that had been accumulating for years," Brush said. "We expected 2,000-3,000 coins of all types, though when we arrived, it was clear that the estimate was closer to 8,000. It took a few hours to get everything packed up and there wasn’t any room left in our car once we got it all loaded up."

"We are glad that this gentleman contacted us and is trusting us to offer this fantastic collection. These coins will keep us busy for a while, but we are excited to offer them," Brush added.

Collection Emphasizes Affordable Coins

DLRC described the Bonanza Hoard as an offering with broad appeal across the collector market.

"While this is not a collection with a ton of high-dollar coins, there are hundreds of affordable collector-grade pieces. We strive to partner with collectors at all stages of their collecting journey, and this hoard does the trick," said Jason Smith, vice president of DLRC.

New selections from the Bonanza Hoard are scheduled to close each Sunday at DLRCcoins.com. The Virginia Beach, Virginia, firm also conducts Red Carpet Rarities auctions on Thursdays.

DLRC is accepting consignments of individual coins, currency and collections for its upcoming Thursday and Sunday auctions. The firm cites its fast turnaround and No Fee Guarantee among its consignment services.

"If you’re ready to sell your collection, contact us and see what we can do for you. Our collections have been breaking records this summer, and we don’t plan to stop," Smith said.
