US Mint Sales: 2025 Reverse Proof Innovation Dollars Lead the Week

The U.S. Mint’s final product for last year, the reverse proof set of 2025 American Innovation dollars, launched last week on Dec. 30. Newly published sales figures show how the set performed out of the gate.

Priced at $32.25, the set features dollars honoring American ingenuity from Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, and Texas. It posted sales of 36,561 in its opening six days, taking the spot as the Mint’s top weekly seller.

For context, the 2024 set recorded 33,770 sales in its first six days, a pace that ranked as the second slowest start in the series, behind only the 2023 set, which opened with 33,467 units sold over the same period. The 2024 set is currently listed as no longer available, with its latest reported total up by 6 units to 36,036. The 2023 set, meanwhile, remains available and most recently increased by 397 to 42,828.

Earlier issues recorded stronger openings. The 2022 set debuted with sales of 39,327, while the 2021 edition opened at 38,056. Both carried mintage limits of 50,000 and are no longer available, with final reported sales of 49,851 and 49,813, respectively.

In 2019 and 2020, reverse proof dollars were issued individually rather than as sets, and many remain available today — all four from 2019 and two from 2020 — priced at $13.25 each. Latest sales for these coins range from 44,713 for the South Carolina issue to 72,284 for Delaware. The 2019 releases carried published mintages of 75,000, while the 2020 coins were capped at 50,000 each.

In its latest report, the Mint published sales data for 618 numismatic products. Five products saw week-over-week gains of more than 1,000 units, compared to thirteen previously.

Overall sales momentum slowed as typical for the time of year, with 87 products topping their previous gains, down from 112 the week before. That followed earlier weekly increases of 72, 139, 142, 106, 69, 112, 148, 98, 109, 75, 145, 106, 114, 102, 94, 57, 109, 101, 94, 90, 110, 85, 103, 105, 89, 120, 98, 93, and 102.

Products Moving Lower

Seventeen products posted week-over-week declines, compared with eight in the prior week. Several warrant callouts, including:

• The set of 2025 Reverse Proof Morgan & Peace silver dollars, released on Dec. 11, fell for a second consecutive week after topping the sales charts for two straight weeks. Its cumulative total dropped by 9,161 to 118,098.
• Two older-dated proof American Platinum Eagles gave back some of the gains that had placed them among the top ten weekly sellers in the prior period. The 2023 issue declined by 960 to 9,003, while the 2024 edition fell by 92 to 9,286.
• The privy-marked 250th Anniversary Marine Corps 2025-P Proof American Silver Eagle, logging its sixth decline in seven weeks, shed 274 to 91,840. Listed as unavailable since shortly after its Nov. 10 release, it carries an official mintage of 100,000.

In addition, most 2025 Marine Corps commemorative coin products moved lower, though their declines were modest, with dips ranging from 1 to 12. Their sales period ended at the close of 2025 as required by authorizing legislation.
