The coin features the Mint’s signature reverse proof finish, characterized by frosted fields and mirror-like design elements. Produced on specially polished planchets and struck multiple times, these collector pieces exhibit heightened detail and visual clarity.

Adding to the appeal is the use of historic designs by Adolph A. Weinman, one of the world’s most renowned sculptors and a name long familiar to coin enthusiasts. More on those designs later.

American Palladium Eagle Series

Palladium Eagles debuted in 2017 with a bullion release, authorized under Public Law 111-303. The law mandates that each year’s coin employ a surface treatment distinct from the prior year’s.

Since then, the U.S. Mint has issued the following coins, with their reported sales:

In addition to varying mintages, prices for the series have fluctuated sharply. The 2018 Proof opened at $1,387.50, while the 2024 Proof debuted at $1,900.00. Most striking was the 2022 Reverse Proof, which launched at $3,050.00.

Palladium Eagle Designs and Specifications

Adolph A. Weinman’s artistry appears on both sides of the coin, as required by Public Law 111-303. The obverse carries his celebrated "Winged Liberty" portrait, first introduced on the 1916 Mercury dime, while the reverse presents an eagle motif adapted from the 1907 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal.

Obverse inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "2025," and Weinman’s initials. A "W" mintmark confirms production at the West Point Mint.

The reverse bears "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "$25," "1 OZ. Pd .9995 FINE," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
