Gift-giving for almost any occasion of the year will become easier with the release of the 2024 Congratulations Set from the United States Mint. This product continues a series dating back to 2013 and can be purchased beginning at Noon ET on Tuesday, Jan. 16. The pricing for the set remains unchanged from last year’s version at $82.

The set’s limit has been raised to 55,000, which is a significant increase compared to last year’s set, which had a product limit of 40,000 and is no longer available.

Within the release tomorrow, you will find one 2024-W Proof American Silver Eagle. Each coin is struck at the U.S. Mint’s facility in West Point and contains 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. The same coin will also be offered individually Tuesday, without the specialized "Congratulations" packaging, priced at $80, and with no specified mintage or product limit.

This same coin will also be available separately, without the specialized "Congratulations" packaging tomorrow for $80, with no indicated mintage or product limit.

The proof Silver Eagle for the Congratulations Set is encapsulated and attached to a presentation folder, allowing both the obverse (heads side) and reverse (tails side) of the Silver Eagle to be visible. The folder features a blank space inside that is suitable for a personalized message, with the U.S. Mint’s certificate of authenticity printed on the back. An outer sleeve holds the presentation folder and also displays the specifications of the coin within.

Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty is depicted on the coin’s obverse. This design was first seen on the 1916-1947 half dollar coins and has been a favorite among collectors for years.

In 2021, the U.S. Mint updated the image for the Silver Eagle program, using historical artifacts to better capture Weinman’s original intent. Liberty is depicted in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Inscriptions read "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2024."

Each coin’s reverse depicts an eagle in the act of landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."

A friend’s child is having a baby maybe I’ll pick one up for their bundle of joy?

Wish Mint still did the birth coin set. Purchased one in 2019 when their other child had a baby girl.

Chris that makes for a special gift. I am ordering just one. No projected events this year but just in case. My orders for this and the ASE’s by prescription are all in the processing phase.

I am skipping too. They made too many. Now if only all those Taylor swift fans didn’t subscribe to peacock we wouldn’t have to pay to watch football on 30 different subscriptions. Everything I read were comments on not buying a sub for one game, not adding another service, I’ll go to bar to watch I’ll pretend to love my kid and we’ll look at memes together on separate devices in different rooms. Yet somehow, some way, it set a viewership record. I guess these people don’t know you can see the replay on nfl network. What next? Some Benedict… Read more »

I wonder how many people would buy that coin set if you Taylor Swift announced she purchased one?

Craig

Dazed, Did you just use my TradeMarked word ‘Afrimerica?’ You owe me 50c! I didn’t see the Chiefs vs Dolphins because I don’t have the peanut subscription, but wonder how many subscribed to see the game and then cancelled it. I was considering doing that, but then remembered it was the Dolphins playing (in subfreezing weather) and figured it would be a waste of my time. I was right. I too, have no plans on buying any 2024 ASE’s primarily because of their price point. Oh, and don’t worry about Biden raising money…they still have billions left from the Covid… Read more »

I get it free from cable provider, tried to use it, and directed me to activate on providers site. Seemed like too much work, plus I’m not putting my info in for something I already pay for. I have paramount, Amazon. Netflix, hulu, cable (almost $250 a month for 3 services cable, landline, and internet) I get apple free with cell phone, but I refuse anything Apple. May dump hulu when they merge. No reason why I should be required to pay for streaming and cable. But it is ok. About to cut back on cable and drop several streaming… Read more »

I got the Congratulation coin in case someone has a baby this year. Other than that I too am passing on the ASE’s for the first time in years. Probably grab the Morgan and Peace dollars but if they continue to raise the mintage limits this will be my last year for those too.

Tom

Greg – the mintage limits for the 2024 Proof Morgan and Peace show 300,000 on the mint web site, which is a decrease of 100,000 from last year, so that is not a raise in mintage limit. The reverse proof shows 262,500 which is a slight increase from the 2023 250,000 limit.
Even at that, the 2023 proofs have not sold out and have a long ways to go.

How can you tell? The mint has nixed the available quantity from source page. Most transparent administration ever. Or maybe they meant trans-parents.

Dazed and Coinfused

I hear Caitlin Jenner has pregnancy scare. So did Wendy Williams. So, you might need to get the HH limit to be safe. Anything is possible in this day and age.

The day after marching looter king birthday the congrats issued, with 50k mintage. What are betting companies lines that this will double the sales of the swing low sweet Harriet 75 coin collection series that had a week had start
