April is looking to be a rather relaxed month for the United States Mint, with only three confirmed days earmarked for new product launches.

Upcoming collectibles include a proof set of silver quarters featuring memorable American women as well as rolls and bags of dollars showcasing Louisiana’s innovative spirit. And of course, for gold coin enthusiasts, a perennial favorite, the annual proof American Gold Buffalo, will also be available.

April 4: 2024 Women Silver Quarters Proof Set

On March 21, less than two weeks ago, the U.S. Mint released the clad proof set of 2024 quarters with designs celebrating Bessie Coleman, Edith Kanakaʻole, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jovita Idar, and Maria Tallchief. Priced at $23, over 40,000 sold in its first six days. The silver version of this set launches on April 4. Featuring quarters minted of 99.9% fine silver, it will cost more, priced at $80.

April 10: Louisiana Innovation Dollars in Rolls and Bags

The Louisiana dollar, the newest issue from the U.S. Mint’s American Innovation® $1 Coin Program, will be launched on April 10 in both roll and bag options from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, with prices ranging from $34.50 to $117.50. It features a depiction of a Higgins Boat with its innovative landing ramp opened against a beach, as it would have appeared during its deployment in World War II.

April 13: 2023-W Proof American Gold Buffalo

Lastly for April, the Mint has scheduled the 13th for releasing their annually issued American Buffalo gold proof coin. Struck in 1-ounce of 99.99% fine gold and around since 2006, the gold piece has a limit of 16,000 like last year. The initial pricing for the gold coin will be known a day before its release and will be based on the Mint’s pricing matrix for gold coins and the prevailing price of gold. Last year’s coin is no longer available, having Mint reported sales of 15,943.

Hmmm. Silver quarters or no? Don’t need bags, and not doing gold this year.

Seth Riesling

D & C, Lol. It comes out to only $16 for each of the 5 quarters in the set…and you get a free COA too!…at an increased price of course at $80 plus $5.95 shipping charge if you don’t subscribe each year…Such a deal! And the new Mint Director wonders why they still have products available for sale from 2017 and other long ago years gathering dust in their Memphis warehouse. And 298 different products available for sale as of last week! Their warehouse must be a hoarder’s wet dream. Maybe the Mint will allow self-professed “Coin King” & human… Read more »

After checking for AWQ silver quarters, I see that you can buy last year for less than this year. Also, for $10 less you can get 2023 set. It’s an ounce of silver, and while gold is over 2k today, silver is trending down. The only thing I wonder is, are the sets online already picked through and determined not to be 70s and sold ungraded cheaper. For 50% markup you can get a graded set fdoi
