The number of U.S. Mint products experiencing negative adjustments to their sales totals jumped to 38 through the week ending Sept. 11 compared to 9 in the prior week.
National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Commemorative Coins bore the brunt of the widest and deepest drops. Every product within the commemorative program fell. Losses reached:
- 2,972 for the 2022-W Proof Purple Heart Silver Dollar,
- 1,168 for the 2022-S Proof Purple Heart Half Dollar,
- 923 for the 2022-W Purple Heart Colorized Silver Dollar,
- 580 for the 2022-D Uncirculated Purple Heart Half Dollar,
- 557 for the 2022-W Uncirculated Purple Heart Silver Dollar,
- 228 for the 2022 Purple Heart Three-Coin Proof Set,
- 81 for the 2022-W Proof $5 Purple Heart Gold Coin, and
- 50 for the 2022-W Uncirculated $5 Purple Heart Gold Coin.
The U.S. Mint began accepting pre-orders for most Purple Heart commemorative products on Feb. 24. Some only started shipping recently. Extensive gaps between pre-orders and eventual product shipping tends to aggravate sales totals at some point.
Bulk-sold 2022-W American Proof Silver Eagles (product code 22EA040) also fell hard, dropping 485 units for a combined 19,400 coins. The individual option (product code 22EA) slipped 97. Its sister, the individually sold 2022-S American Proof Silver Eagle, lost 427.
Elsewhere, U.S. Mint flagship sets and recently released Tennessee Innovation dollars were among the most-sold products.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 266 numismatic products. Nineteen outperformed their prior weekly gains against 84 previously. Four products increased by more than 1,000 units just like in the prior report.
In addition, 38 of the Mint’s products registered negative weekly sales compared to 9 in the last sales report. Reductions ranged from 1 to 2,972, with the latter tagged to the already mentioned 2022-W Proof Purple Heart Silver Dollar.

Still peeved my end about Peace Dollar CC being taken out of my cart while I was paying for it. Must have gone through payment process 15 or more times b/c Mint’s website crashed routinely during the Peace Dollar CC & O opening day sale that lasted about 30 minutes. Was only able to secure the O coin that day.

I feel diabolical, I got one of each coin. My sole regret is not buying two more of the Peace Dollars. I’ll look forward to next year to purchase the offerings, this time I’m enrolled for 3 Peace Dollars. The only coin I missed last year was the 2021 W ASE Type 1. Sold out in I believe 3 minutes.
I got the full allotment of Three of the Peace Dollars last year Antonio. The only coins I really wanted from the centennial of the Morgan’s and Peace coins.
Also enrolled the max for next year’s run of them.
I only wanted one of each but after I received my Peace Dollar, I regretted not purchasing more. I enrolled for 2023, one each Morgan and three Peace. Then there’s the proofs and as with the reverse proof ASEs, I believe the limit is at one. I’m only willing to pay for one anyway, considering the price.
Compared to everyone who didn’t receive one, I feel I’m diabolical. I feel everyone who wanted at least one should have been able to have one. The system didn’t favor us. I hope that’s a thing of the past going forward.
Based on the ‘data-available’ here are the numbers sold as enrollment in the last week (since I saved last weeks totals on Sept 6) The 2 coin set is almost 48% sold.
I assume since the coins are available under enrollment that implies the mint plans on continuing the series on an annual basis. Curious to see how ‘sales’ continue…

once enrolled it keeps going. I was actually enrolled in one item (maybe it was the innovation dollar) and then turned it off. Then when the mint limited the number of rolls available I thought I was out of luck. As I recall the item was listed as unavailable or remind me or whatever, but was surprised when I could simply it turn it back on

But I got my coin anyway. I’m happy I have a full set for ’22. I’m only sad about no proof 2022 S Morgan and Peace Dollars. So sad, too bad.
That was crazy with the bots for these. Managed to snag 3 of each though. Hope we never have to go through that again.

Yes, the special subscription holders got first opportunity at those coins and so the coins are available only to them, and the Mint’s favourite dealers. Fortunately for me, I’m not interested in this issue. I’m looking forward to how next year’s coins will look and perhaps I’ll purchase a set (haven’t decided whether unc, specimen or proof).

Yes Major D, these Royal Mint’s in Canada and UK have small runs but many varieties of coins. If you’re not there first second on sale you can be left out in the cold 🙁
