US Mint Sales: 2019 $1 Coin & Currency Sets at 50% of Maximum

The highlight from the U.S. Mint’s latest weekly sales report is the first appearance of the new 2019 Native American $1 Coin and Currency Set. (See more set photos.)

Released last Wednesday, July 24, the space-themed set with its enhanced uncirculated Native American $1 Coin and uncirculated $1 note registered sales of 21,761 in the first day when orders were restricted to two sets per household.

Orders climbed by another 3,055 units through Sunday, lifting the set to a five-day total of 24,816 for 49.6% of the maximum 50,000. The set was the U.S. Mint’s best weekly seller.

  7. 2019-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle (+942 to 109,137)
  8. 2019-W Proof Silver Eagle (+621 to 291,929)
  9. 2019 Explore and Discover Coin Set (+611 to 28,395)
  10. 2019-P Uncirculated Apollo 11 Silver Dollar (+455 to 54,757)

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 157 numismatic products. Fifty-one outperformed their prior weekly gains against 71 previously. Not counting the new Coin and Currency Set so as to compare apples to apples, 4 products increased by more than 1,000 units compared to 9 previously.

In addition, 2 products saw their sales reduced compared to 3 previously. Their reductions were modest.
