Block Island National Wildlife Refuge Quarter Photos
Coin events next week will celebrate Block Island National Wildlife Refuge. Located 12 miles off the southern coast of Rhode Island, the refuge was established in 1973 with the transfer of 28 acres from the U.S. Coast Guard, and has grown to its current size of 134 acres. The island is known around the world for its variety of migratory birds and its stunning barrier beaches.
