1787 Brasher Doubloon Tops $5 Million In Record Sale
One of the first gold coins struck in the United States, a 1787 New York Brasher Doubloon, has been sold for more than $5 million in a private treaty transaction involving Heritage Auctions, Monaco Rare Coins and an anonymous West Coast collector.
