The United States Mint on Wednesday released design images of the 2011 Presidential $1 Dollar Coins. The dollars feature portraits of former Presidents Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes and James Garfield.

They mark the seventeenth through the twentieth dollar coins to be issued in the United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Program which began in 2007 with George Washington.
Every year there are four new $1 coins that honor former chief executives in the order in which they served as President. Each dollar has a unique image of the featured President on the obverse and the same image of the Statue of Liberty on the reverse. The reverse was designed by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Don Everhart and also includes the inscriptions "$1" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."
On the edge of every dollar coin are the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "2011," the mint mark and 13 stars.
In addition to the portrait, each coin’s obverse features inscription of the President’s name, the years in which they served, a number showing the order in which they served and the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST."
The coins will be released in approximately three month intervals throughout the year.
