American Eagle Palladium Bullion Coin Act Introduced in House
Placing the United States Mint one step closer to striking a new precious metal American Eagle, legislation was introduced Wednesday, September 22, 2020, calling for new palladium versions of the coin to be produced.
Referred to as the American Eagle Palladium Bullion Coin Act of 2010, numbered H.R. 6166, the legislation was introduced by Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-MT).
H.R. 6166 places several stipulations on the proposed coins. First, and perhaps most interesting, is the choice of designs to be used on the obverse and reverse of the strike.
US Mint Sales: Bullion Coins Robust, Silver Products Rally
Record gold and 30-year high silver prices boosted demand across almost all United States Mint coin products, breaking a two-week streak of mostly falling sales.
US Mint one-ounce bullion coins were the recipients of the most buying action. American Silver Eagles rallied to a weekly level that has been more typical of the coins this year, jumping 655,000 versus 245,000 in the prior week and 205,000 during the week before that. The one-ounce American Gold Eagles moved a tad slower, rising 20,500 versus 21,500. But their September total of 53,500 has already passed the 39,000 sold in all of August.

US Mint and NPS Release Grand Canyon National Park Quarter
It was a beautiful sunny day as the United States Mint and the National Park Service (NPS) unveiled Arizona's 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Quarter. A few clouds in the blue sky and the colorful canyon provided the perfect backdrop for the outdoor ceremony on the edge of the South Rim.
School age children watched Peter The Mint Eagle while officials from the US Mint and National Park Service made ready for the ceremony. A Native American in full dress played songs on a wooden flute before the event kicked off with the Pledge of Allegiance.
