Last week, the United States Mint introduced four new products — the 2015 Mint Set, the 2015-W Uncirculated Gold Eagle, the 2015 Truman Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Set, and the 2015-P Kisatchie Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin.
Having already talked about starting sales of the uncirculated Gold Eagle and opening sales of the Mint Set, we’ll take a quick look at how the other two products performed in the early going.
But first in an update, the highly-anticipated March of Dimes Special Silver Set launched on Monday and scored first-day sales of 52,540. Collectors have since grabbed another 11,342 so 63,882, or 85.2%, of the authorized 75,000 have been claimed. We should have an updated total to report on Friday morning.
Returning to new products from last week, on April 28, the collector Kisatchie five ounce silver uncirculated coin with the ‘P’ mint mark went on sale for $149.95. It lassoed six-day sales of 15,622, making it the Mint’s third most popular product of the week. That’s down, however, from the four-day start of the previous series coin depicting Homestead National Monument of America. It opened with sales of 16,216.
In related news, the investment-grade bullion Kisatchie five ounce silver coin without the mint mark is now sold out. Earlier today, the U.S. Mint sent the following memo to its authorized purchasers:
"This is to inform you that we are now SOLD-OUT of Kisatchie National Forest — America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coins. The next release will be the Blue Ridge Parkway — America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin. We expect this next release will go on sale on Monday, June 22, 2015."
Sales of the Kisatchie bullion coin stand at 42,000, which is the highest total since the Chickasaw piece from 2011. Adam Stump, deputy director of the U.S. Mint’s Office of Corporate Communications, told CoinNews on Wednesday that the authorized limit for both numismatic and bullion 2015 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Coins for Kisatchie National Forest is 65,000 coins. If you run the math, that leaves 7,378 of the collectible version left with its top possible sales at 23,000.
Lastly, on April 29, the Mint started selling the Truman $1 and medal set for $9.95. It scored opening sales of 1,502, topping the starts of all four sets from last year.

The U.S. Mint published sales updates to 219 numismatic products. One hundred fourteen of them outperformed their prior weekly sales compared to 98 previously. Twenty products of at least two weeks old increased by more than 1,000 units compared to 7 previously. Twelve products had their totals notched lower compared to 10 previously.
