BEP to Participate in ANA’s World’s Fair of Money in Los Angeles

ANA World's Fair of Money Intaglio Print CardThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Bureau/BEP) will exhibit at the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) World’s Fair of Money, August 5 – 9, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (West Hall A), 1201 S. Figueroa Street – Los Angeles, CA.

The Bureau will proudly showcase its "Billion Dollar Exhibit" which features more than one billion dollars of rare and antique currency including sheets of $100,000 currency notes, Treasury Bonds, and Gold and Silver certificates. Also, the Bureau will have on display an exhibit featuring two currency face plates from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, a Series 1934-C 12-Subject $1,000 plate and a Series 1934-C 12-Subject $10,000 plate.

Additionally, the Bureau will have an antique (19th Century) Spider Press at this convention. A technical expert on currency production will conduct printing demonstrations on this Abraham Lincoln-era press and answer questions. There will also be live demonstrations by a member of the Bureau’s Office of Engraving and a member of the Mutilated Currency Division.

The Bureau is excited to offer the following new products:

"2009 $2 Single Note Collection" (Second/Final Installment). This installment features one $2 note from the Federal Reserve Districts of San Francisco, Richmond, Atlanta, Chicago, and St. Louis with a serial number beginning with "2009xxxxD." Notes will be released individually for the first time on August 5, 2009 and will be available for purchase for $7.95 each.

"We the People - Series 2004A $10 Single Note Collection" (Third/Final Installment). This installment features one $10 note representative of each of the following Federal Reserve Districts: San Francisco, Richmond, Atlanta and Dallas with the LOWEST SERIAL NUMBERS available. Notes will be released individually for the first time on August 5, 2009, and may be purchased by bank designation or you may purchase the entire collection through the subscription program which includes all 12 Federal Reserve Banks.

"Lincoln Freedom Collection – Series 2006 $5 Note Collection" (Second Installment). This installment features one $5 note representative of each of the following Federal Reserve Districts: San Francisco, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Kansas City with the LOWEST SERIAL NUMBERS available. Notes will be released individually for the first time on August 5, 2009, and may be purchased by bank designation or you may purchase the entire collection through the subscription program which includes all 12 Federal Reserve Banks.

American Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money Intaglio Print Card "Lincoln Bicentennial Series - Legacy," featuring engraved images of miscellaneous portraits and vignettes representing the life of Abraham Lincoln. This card is the last of five in the "Lincoln Bicentennial Series" and will be available for purchase at a price of $20.00 each.
