Poised for strong demand, the United States Mint today launches the 250th Anniversary U.S. Marine Corps 2025-P Proof American Silver Eagle. This special edition coin features a distinctive Marine Corps privy mark honoring 250 years of military service.

Sales begin at noon ET, with a limited mintage of just 100,000 one-ounce, .999 fine silver coins. To support broader access, the Mint has set an initial household order limit of one Marine Corps Silver Eagle per customer.
The U.S. Marine Corps traces its origin to the establishment of two battalions of Continental Marines on November 10, 1775, in Philadelphia. The infantry troops were created to fight both at sea and on shore — a mission the branch continues today.
Today’s launch marks the Mint’s fourth special American Silver Eagle of the year and its third military-themed coin commemorating a 250th anniversary. Previous issues include:
- 250th Anniversary U.S. Army 2025-W Proof American Silver Eagle, released June 13
- 2025-W Proof American Silver Eagle with Laser Privy Mark, released August 20
- 250th Anniversary U.S. Navy 2025-S Proof American Silver Eagle, released October 10
Each of these limited-edition coins sold out, with the military-themed pieces becoming unavailable within hours of release and now commanding significant premiums on the secondary market.

Designs for today’s 250th Anniversary Marine Corps coin match those of other American Silver Eagles, except for the Marine Corps privy mark on the obverse. The mark complements Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty design, which first appeared on the half dollar from 1916 to 1947 and was reintroduced with the American Silver Eagle program in 1986.
Liberty is shown in full stride, draped in the flag, her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Obverse inscriptions read "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "2025," and include Weinman’s distinct artist mark.

The reverse depicts an eagle coming in for a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions read "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," and "P" for the Philadelphia Mint.

Price and Ordering
While supplies last — likely only for a few hours — the 250th Anniversary U.S. Marine Corps 2025-P Proof American Silver Eagle is available at noon ET directly from the U.S. Mint through its American Eagle product page.
Pricing for the coin is $105, unchanged from the three previously mentioned privy-marked coins. Each ships in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case and includes a certificate of authenticity.
The $105 price represents a $10 increase over this year’s traditional "W" and "S" Proof American Silver Eagles, which carry higher mintages and were released on Jan. 9 and Sept. 23, respectively.
