Australian bullion sales softened in July, with Perth Mint data showing a sharper pullback for gold and a more modest decline for silver. Year-to-date, gold remains ahead of 2024 while silver continues to trail.
The Mint’s sales took place against a backdrop of rising precious metal prices. According to LBMA data for July (in USD), gold edged up 0.3%, while silver advanced 0.7%.
Perth Mint Gold Bullion Sales in July 2025
The Perth Mint recorded gold coin and bar sales of 21,891 ounces in July, a decline of 33.5% from June and 14% lower than July 2024.
"While July’s gold sales were softer compared to previous months, this is in line with typical seasonal patterns, particularly as trading activity slows across the northern hemisphere during summer," said Neil Vance, General Manager of Minted Products at the Mint.
Cumulative gold sales for 2025 have now reached 210,938 ounces, up 9.4% from the 192,781 ounces reported in the same period last year.
Perth Mint Silver Bullion Sales in July 2025
Silver bullion sales totaled 452,132 ounces in July, slipping 2.6% from June and down 51.9% compared to a year earlier. The figure represents the third straight monthly decline, following a short two-month rebound that had lifted sales to their strongest point since December.
"Silver demand remained relatively resilient and this reinforces ongoing confidence in The Perth Mint’s trusted, high-quality offerings," Vance added.
Year-to-date silver sales stand at 3,747,409 ounces, a 32.5% drop from the 5,549,938 ounces sold during the same stretch in 2024.
