The United States Mint has unveiled the official designs of the 2025 Wonder Woman coin and medals, part of its Comic Art Coin and Medal Program honoring DC Super Heroes.

The announcement came this week at the ANA World’s Fair of Money in Oklahoma City, where high-quality images were released, giving collectors their first look at Wonder Woman’s debut in the program. The products are scheduled for release this fall.
"This groundbreaking and historic series is more than a celebration of comic book heroes — it’s a tribute to the enduring power of storytelling," said Kristie McNally, Acting Director of the Mint. "By honoring these legendary characters on coins and medals, we’re connecting generations through art, history, and imagination."
In November, the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) reviewed candidate designs and made recommendations. The Treasury Secretary later selected the final versions in coordination with those recommendations, the Mint, and Warner Bros. Discovery representatives.
Wonder Woman Coin and Medal Imagery
On the obverse, Wonder Woman leaps into action, shield in one hand and Lasso of Truth in the other, with stripes of the American flag behind her as a nod to her World War II–era costume and "LIBERTY" inscribed above.
The reverse highlights her role as a global champion: Wonder Woman is depicted above Earth with three doves soaring overhead — each symbolizing peace, equality, and justice.
The obverse was created and sculpted by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph F. Menna, while the reverse was designed by Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill and sculpted by Menna.
Comic Art Coin and Medal Program Overview
Launched this year, the Mint’s Comic Art Coin and Medal Program features three DC Super Heroes annually, with each design offered in multiple formats: 1/2-ounce 24K gold coins, 2.5-ounce .999 fine silver medals, 1-ounce .999 fine silver medals, and later on clad medals. The gold coins and 2.5-ounce silver medals are limited, while the 1-ounce silver and clad issues carry no fixed mintages.
Superman Coins and Medals Now Available
The program opened with Superman products in July, followed by the Aug. 19 unveiling of Wonder Woman and Batman designs during the ANA World’s Fair of Money in Oklahoma City. Like the Wonder Woman issues, the Batman products are scheduled to launch this fall.
Next Super Heroes in the Series
At the ANA event, the U.S. Mint also revealed the next six Super Heroes to be featured in the series: Green Lantern, Robin, and Supergirl in 2026, followed by The Flash, Batgirl, and Aquaman in 2027.
