Australian bullion sales were mixed in June and through the first half of 2025, according to data from The Perth Mint. Gold outperformed in both timeframes, while silver declined from May and year-earlier levels.
Neil Vance, General Manager of Minted Products at The Perth Mint, said investor interest in the Mint’s striking designs continues to show strength.
"Sales of our newly released gold and silver dragon rectangular bullion coins have been very pleasing as have our silver kangaroos which remain very popular with the German market," he said.
The Mint’s sales took place against a backdrop of rising precious metal prices. According to LBMA data for June (in USD), gold edged up 0.3%, while silver surged 8.8%.
Perth Mint Gold Bullion Sales in June and First Half of 2025
Gold coin and bar sales at The Perth Mint totaled 32,901 ounces in June, rising 16.5% from May and up 46.1% compared to June 2024.
Year to date, gold bullion sales have reached 189,047 ounces, representing a 13% increase over the 167,324 ounces sold during the first half of 2024.
Perth Mint Silver Bullion Sales in June and First Half of 2025
Silver coin and bar sales in June totaled 496,707 ounces, down 6.6% from May and 5.6% below June 2024 levels. The decline marks a second consecutive monthly drop, following a two-month rebound that had pushed sales to their highest level since December.
Through the first six months of 2025, The Perth Mint has sold 3,295,277 ounces of silver bullion — a 28.5% decrease from the 4,610,465 ounces sold during the same period last year.
