The United States Mint opened pre-orders last week for its 2025 commemorative coins celebrating the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary. Early sales figures offer an initial glimpse into their performance.
So far, sales have been somewhat modest, which is unsurprising given that shipments are not scheduled to begin until Feb. 11. Collectors may have little incentive to order early, aside from a $5 discount per coin available during the 30-day introductory pricing period.
Nevertheless, all the commemorative coins featured prominently among the Mint’s best weekly sellers. Leading the lineup were the proof silver dollars, a consistent favorite among commemorative releases.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 510 numismatic products. The data revealed that 75 products outperformed their sales from the previous week, compared to 54 in the prior report. One product experienced a week-over-week increase of more than 1,000 units, compared to 2 previously.
Additionally, fourteen products reported negative weekly sales, up from four in the previous report. The declines were modest, with most involving 2024-dated commemorative items. In the prior update, with that data also released this week, the recently released 2024 American Innovation Dollar Reverse Proof Set saw a notable decrease of 2,140 units but has since recovered by 403 units, bringing its total to 32,282.

The FHS and FHG are officially declared SOLD OUT according to the USM product page. Good luck getting anymore from the Mint now–But you never know!? https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-programs/230th-anniversary-flowing-hair/ The sales figures posted between 11/25 and 1/5 show the Gold fluctuating up & down at the rate of only 8 coins during that time. I find that to be lower than usual adjustments. AKBob I think you’re in good shape with your FHG stack! 24YG sales will adjust up next week, as the sales numbers reported by the mint are not reflective of the reporting period, It was available on New Years morning.., mine showed with no evidence of the OGP clamshell ever having been opened (black micro fibers on capsules, no fingers prints, no indentations on backside of flimsy coin holder from the coin being removed) and a beautiful coin with clear fields and a smooth clean rim. AK just for kicks I’ll go off of some sales numbers and is speculative on my part. KCSO has a better grasp on this I’m sure! Prior to day one the AP’s ordered up to 2375 coins = 23.75% Day one everyone jumped in at once and came out with 7625 coins(orders) = 76.25% of Mintage. This includes the Mint shops and the Baltimore coin show on day one(Dealers were buying from people in line for $500+ extra lol). Rick, I’m not so sure you’re “off” on your analysis! It sure makes cents to me! I think you could very well be spot on! I just wish someone would be held accountable for what happened with this FHG release. I’m very displeased with the shenanigans the Mint continues to do. I wish there was something us/we collectors could do to get some attention to exactly what the mints up to. This type of experience will do nothing to gain new collectors, just how many new collectors are there that will shell out $3700-$4500 for raw/uncertified and/or $5500-$7000 for graded… Read more »

Actually, I think it will be a very nice looking coin. Just like the last several Liberty Metals we have seen. Great symmetry and great balance. Yes, a good high relief candidate for sure. Don’t know the historical significance of the design though. But, socially and politically neutral. Sun Flower – Nice!

The Sunflower & Bee represents a stewardship between the two for a partnership, and to co-exist for survival, if you will(my take).

From the horse’s (Mint’s) mouth: “ABPP participants can have their orders shipped up to five days in advance of the United States Mint’s official on-sale date to allow time for receipt and grading in advance of the normal ordering process.” But the question I have is: why aren’t the ABPP participants buying the Bulk40 (25EA040) instead of 25EA?

The 2024 Clad Proof Set (24RG) was listed as Sold Out as of Monday Jan 6. The sales report ending Jan 5 has sales of 355,782 which beats the 2023 Clad Proof Set (369,233) as the lowest mintage clad proof set since 1955 (378,200).
When the Available Count was briefly accessible on October 16, there were 114,904 of 24RG available. The sales as of October 13 were 302,224, which meant a mintage of around 417,128 +/-. I wonder what happened to the missing 61,346?
Here’s a Tale of Two Morgans (and of Two Peace):
When adding the single option with the Bulk40, the 2023 Uncirculated Morgan sold out at 273,727 after 2 weeks; whereas the 2024 Uncirculated Morgan has sales of 175,508 after 26 weeks (with presumably 111,000 still available based on Available Count on Oct 16).
Meanwhile the 2023 Uncirculated Peace sold out at 273,969 after two weeks; whereas the 2024 Uncirculated Peace has sales of 167,728 after 26 weeks (with presumably 118,000 still available).
To clarify, the Available Count of Oct 16 added to sales as of October 13 suggests a mintage of 286,854 +/- for the 2024 Unc Morgan and a mintage of 286,199 +/- for the 2024 Unc Peace.
I was able to get both Silver Libertys from the Mint last year. The mintages look pretty respectable today. But they went out as gifts. Just call me “Johnny Coin Seed.” Quoting Cag, “I’ve given away a boat load of coins.” I do manage to keep a few for myself though.

Sales figures for 2024 W uncirculated shown as approx 93K….doesn’t look right…a recent sales report showed around 160+K….I know that coin is showing potential for having the lowest production of any uncs.
