US Mint Sales: 2019 Proof Set Nears 400,000

Lacking competition from brand new releases that tend to draw the most buying attention from coin collectors, one of the U.S. Mint’s core products, the 2019 Proof Set, was its best weekly seller,

The clad set with its bonus Lincoln cent climbed 3,781 from a week earlier for a total of 397,047 through six months and eight days. By comparison, last year’s set through the same stretch of time logged sales of 348,037. It took eight months for it to top the 396,000 level.

  9. 2019-W $100 American Liberty Gold Coin (+670 to 6,364)
  10. 2019-P San Antonio Missions Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin (+652 to 12,821)

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 174 numismatic products. Seventy of them outperformed their prior weekly gains compared to 45 previously. Seven products increased by more than 1,000 units against 6 previously. Finally, no products saw a sales reduction compared to 3 in the prior report.
