American Legion 100th Anniversary Proof Silver Dollar and Medal Set
The American Legion 100th Anniversary Proof Silver Dollar and Medal Set realized sales of 7,412 in seven days

The highlight from the U.S. Mint’s latest weekly sales report is the first appearance of the new American Legion Silver Dollar and Medal Set.

Released a week ago Monday, May 20, the set with its proof American Legion Silver Dollar and American Veterans Silver Medal posted 7-day starting sales of 7,412, representing 74.1% of the possible 10,000 sets. The set was the Mint’s third best weekly seller.

Ranking first for a second week in a row was the uncirculated 2019 Mint Set. The set of 20 uncirculated coins climbed by another 28,340 units for a 13-day total of 189,938. By comparison, it took nearly 4-1/2 months for last year’s set to reach the same level.

  6. 2019-P Proof Apollo 11 Silver Dollar (+1,567 to 161,619)
  7. 2019 Explore and Discover Coin Set (+1,473 to 24,051)
  8. 2019-P Proof American Legion Silver Dollar (+840 to 27,788)
  9. 2019 James Madison Presidential Silver Medal (+612 to 7,377)
  10. 2018-S Proof American Innovation Dollar (+590 to 178,802)

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 144 numismatic products. Forty-four of them outperformed their prior weekly gains against 54 previously. Not counting the new set so as to compare apples to apples, 6 products increased by more than 1,000 units compared to 5 previously. In addition, 3 products saw their sales reduced against 3 previously. The reductions were modest.
