Gold Ends Week at 1-1/2-Month High; Palladium Jumps 6%
Precious metals futures scored decent gains Friday. Gold posted its fourth straight weekly increase, closing around a 1-1/2-month high, while silver moved ahead for a third week in a row to end at a 5-1/2-week. Palladium, meanwhile, soared by more than $47 this week.

The U.S. Mint logged a second straight week of strengthened sales for more than half of its collector products, although figures are lopsided a bit with an extra day, Memorial Day, included in the latest reporting period.
