Overall gains softened last week for most United States Mint products after a soaring week of sales when buyers raced to order 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Uncirculated Coin Sets and added other collectibles to their shopping carts before checking out.
Sales of the uncirculated coins sets climbed another 13,062 during their first full week of release. They’re likely atop the 100,000 ledge by now given that 97,655 were scooped up by Sunday.
JFK Gold Coin Sales Update
The gold Kennedy half-dollar, the second of three 50th anniversary Kennedy products, just launched on Tuesday. The gold piece notched opening-day sales of 56,694 coins and then went up another 5,006 on Wednesday for a combined total of 61,700 coins. Here are the latest breakouts by day and by ordering sites:

Finally, 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Young Collectors Sets debuted last week. For $24.95, collectors can buy a unique gift for children that has an uncirculated Baseball half-dollar within a special tri-fold presentation folder. Starting sales for the sets checked in at 13,908, making it last week’s most popular numismatic product.
US Mint Top Selling Products
This week the U.S. Mint reported sales updates to 241 numismatic products. Of those with a sales history of at least two weeks, 35 outperformed their prior weekly sales compared to 142 previously. The new 2014 Kennedy Half-Dollar Clad Sets led all products.

Update on 2013 Proof Set
The 2013 Proof Set sold out three weeks ago. Its total declined 3 to 802,464, still well ahead of the 2012 Proof Set and its 794,002 — the weakest total since 1956.
