US Mint Sales: US Mint Sets Top 750,000

2

US Mint Sales Figures ImageDemand generally declined for United States Mint bullion and numismatic products toward the end of March and through to the start of April’s holiday-shortened first week.

2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars are still racing. BSA coins reached 76% of the maximum allotted on Sunday, with 266,517 of the available 350,000 scooped up by collectors. Should the pace continue, the coins will be gone before month’s end.

Prior US Mint sales reports showed that DAV silver dollar sales dipped and then enjoyed a second wind during the fourth week of March. Their momentum was not carried into April. Weekly sales were up by only 7,010 versus the prior 14,684. The commemoratives are hardly gasping for breath, however. Sales reached a respectable 188,062, or 53.7%, of their maximum in just over five weeks of availability.

The 2010 Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coin and Abigail First Spouse Medal Set was added to the sales tables last week. They debuted at 2,362. They jumped another 1,215 since, and are now at 3,577.

The 2010 Millard Fillmore $1 Dollar Coin Covers made their debut this week. They were released Friday at noon ET. By Sunday, 17,833 were purchased.

In the notable column, in six months the 2009 US Mint Uncirculated Set topped 750,000, surpassing the 2008 US Mint Set’s total of 745,464. The 2008 sets were available for nearly 7 months before they were unexpectedly pulled from Mint store shelves. The 2010 US Mint Set is currently scheduled for a "July" release. The 2009s could be pulled before then if last year’s practice is repeated.

  • First Spouse Gold Coin Sales Rise, Except Abigail Fillmore – FirstSpouseCoins.us
Although First Spouse Gold Coin sales as a group have been naturally declining after an initial bump was brought about with the release of the 2010 Abigail Fillmore First Spouse Coins, new totals were only slightly smaller compared to last week’s report. The latest data reveals …

  • Boy Scouts Silver Dollar Coins Top 266,000 – SilverCoinsToday.com
Silver coins were not shining as bright last week as the week before, according to the latest United States Mint sales report. Demand dropped across all U.S. Mint silver numismatic products, but the softened sales appear to be more a reflection of collectors who have already made their new coin purchases than of anything else. 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars are still hot …

are they still making 2009 mint sets they should be sold out long ago.

Christopher

The Mint stopped production on the 2009 Mint Sets last year. They are just selling the remaining inventory before the 2010 Mint Sets go on sale.
