Release dates are now known for the five 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters® that celebrate El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico, Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico, Acadia National Park in Maine, Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii and Denali National Park in Alaska.

Marking the third year since the quarters were introduced, the coins represent the 11th through 15th issue in the series which honor national parks and other national sites throughout the United States, D.C., and each U.S. Territory. 2011 American Silver Eagle Anniversary SetPricing for the American Silver Eagle 25th Anniversary Set was announced on Thursday by the United States Mint.

The collectible anniversary set featuring five 2011-dated American Silver Eagles will be available for $299.95, more than some expectations but less than others. Scheduled for release on October 27, the sets have an order limit of five per household.

Reaffirmed by the Mint Thursday as well was the 100,000 maximum mintage, which is appealing [...]

2011-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle Coin2011-W Uncirculated Silver Eagles added to their total for the first time since suffering a suspension for re-pricing, according to the latest sales figures from the United States Mint.

Proof and uncirculated Silver Eagles were suspended in late September and returned for sale at reduced prices in early October. A sizable number of collectors apparently canceled their orders in favor of the lower prices as sales of uncirculated Silver Eagles dropped for two straight reporting periods — by 424 and 11,476. The most recent sales figures from the Mint have the coins up 8,827 for a total of 190,927 [...]

Vicksburg Quarter Three-Coin SetThe United States Mint released the Vicksburg Quarter Three-Coin Set on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Each set is available for $14.95, plus the Mint’s standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order.

The three-coin set marks the ninth similar issue in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program which debuted in 2010. It is the fourth from the series this year, with preceding 2011 sets honoring Gettysburg National Military Park, Glacier National Park and Olympic National Park [...]

2011 Proof American Eagle Gold CoinThe United States Mint began selling collector 2011 American Gold Eagle Proof Coins on April 21, 2011. One of them had been teetering toward a sell-out, and then suddenly, hit the marker Friday morning.

The Eagles come in four sizes, plus a four-coin set, and each has a different price and mintage limit. Interested buyers should note that the most popular of the gold American Eagle coins, the largest 1 oz. proof, has sold out.

2011 American Silver Eagle Anniversary SetCollectors were told in August to expect the American Silver Eagle 25th Anniversary Set in "late October." A firmer release date is now available, based on an update Wednesday to the United States Mint’s website.

While subject to change, the Mint is planning to release the anniversary set on October 27, 2011. The launch date was added to the Mint’s "2011 Scheduled Products Listing" page which visibly sports the message [...]

Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Dollar Coin CoverBuyers opted to hand out more money for coins last week as 63 United States Mint products outperformed their previous weekly gains, the latest sales figures from the bureau revealed.

Friday’s returning silver coins and sets helped raise sales, although some silver products again had their totals cut lower than shown in the previous Mint sales report. The 2011-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle led those declines, dropping 424 to 182,100.

Improving silver products included the 2011-W Proof American Silver Eagle, the 2011 Silver Proof Set and one of the collector five-ounce coins, as highlighted by the Mint’s top seven selling numismatic products [...]

2011 Commemorative Gold CoinsAs a result of higher trending gold, prices for United States Mint collector gold and commemorative coins may increase Wednesday, October 12.

If price hikes occur, they would mark a sixth straight week that the Mint has adjusted prices for its collector gold coins. But moving coins higher would also break a streak of four straight weeks where prices had been cut [...]

2011-D Lincoln CentThe amount of circulating coins coming out of the United States Mint surged last month, according to September coin production figures released by the government agency. The increase snaps two-straight monthly declines.

Mintages were not revealed for James Garfield Presidential dollars or Chickasaw National Recreational Area quarters, the final 2011-dated coins set to enter circulation this year. The numbers do indicate, however, that the United States Mint is busy striking the Garfield dollars which are scheduled to launch November 17 [...]
