Whitman Expos will host its Spring Coin Expo from March 5-7, 2026, at the Baltimore Convention Center’s Halls F & G, bringing collectors, dealers, and numismatic enthusiasts together for three days of buying, selling, trading, and educational programming.
Recognized as one of North America’s leading coin and collectibles shows, the Whitman Spring Coin Expo is open to the public with free admission, though attendees must present a government-issued photo ID. Organizers expect participation from collectors and professionals nationwide, with more than 200 independent dealers offering coins, paper money, and related collectibles across a wide range of price levels.
Show Highlights and Activities

The Expo will feature a broad mix of hobby activities and services designed for both experienced numismatists and newcomers. Among the scheduled attractions are:
- More than 200 independent dealers
- On-site coin grading services
- Stack’s Bowers Galleries auction lot viewing
- Greysheet® market resources
- Author signing for the new Mega Red X reference guide

"We’re excited to bring the Whitman Spring Expo back to Baltimore and to be part of such a passionate numismatic community," said Mike Pfeiffer, chief operating officer of Whitman Brands. "There’s strong momentum across the hobby — from robust demand for rare coins and paper money to the excitement surrounding major Stack’s Bowers Galleries auction lots and the upcoming United States 250th Anniversary coinage."
Focus on the U.S. Semiquincentennial
The 2026 Expo coincides with the nation’s 250th anniversary, a theme expected to draw added interest among collectors. Whitman will preview its upcoming U.S. 250th Anniversary Collection of coin albums and folders at the show ahead of their public release on March 15.

The anniversary follows the U.S. Mint’s introduction of circulating coinage featuring one-year-only semiquincentennial designs authorized under the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020. New designs across multiple denominations highlight historic themes tied to the nation’s founding and development.
Mega Red X Debuts at Expo

A major publishing highlight will be the appearance of Mega Red: A Guide Book of United States Coins Deluxe Tenth Edition, commonly known as Mega Red X. The expanded edition builds on earlier scholarship associated with R.S. Yeoman, Q. David Bowers, and Kenneth Bressett, with contributions from editors John Feigenbaum and Jeff Garrett.
Recently released, the deluxe reference covers U.S. coinage from colonial issues through modern programs and bullion coins, featuring expanded pricing data, research articles, and a special study of $5 Half Eagle gold coins struck between 1795 and 1929.
A limited run of 500 numbered hardcover editions will be available for signing by Feigenbaum and Garrett on Thursday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. ET at Whitman Brands Booth #649.
Stack’s Bowers Showcase Auction Viewing

Stack’s Bowers Galleries will display lots from its upcoming Spring Showcase Auctions, offering attendees a preview of material scheduled for multiple live auction sessions. The sales will include U.S. coins spanning early American issues through modern rarities, along with numismatic Americana and specialized currency offerings such as colonial notes, obsolete banknotes, errors, and Confederate issues.
Featured consignments include selections from the Widmer Family Collection and the Admirals Cove Collection, presented during the firm’s Rarities Night session. Auction offerings will also include emerging collectible categories such as physical cryptocurrency pieces.
